Ardurra is seeking an experienced Production Tech – Transportation/Civil Engineering to join our team in Everett, WA. We would also consider candidates in Seattle, WA or Bellingham, WA.
Ardurra’s teams support a wide range of transportation, site development, utility, and infrastructure projects for public and private clients. Our professionals work collaboratively across disciplines to deliver practical, high-quality solutions while supporting projects from initial planning and design through final delivery.
Primary Function:
Under general supervision and mentorship, the Production Tech – Transportation/Civil Engineering performs routine and advanced drafting and design tasks, applying established CAD techniques and procedures to develop and maintain technical drawings and design deliverables. This role supports the Transportation, Utilities, and Energy Services groups by producing accurate, high-quality CAD documents and assisting with project-related drafting and design activities.
This position works closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to develop plans for transportation, site development, utility, and infrastructure projects.
Primary Duties:

Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, profiles, cross-sections, and exhibits.

Develop construction documents for transportation, roadway, drainage, utility, and site development projects.

Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or other industry-standard applications.

Serves as a knowledgeable resource for the team, providing guidance, mentoring, and assisting with complex or challenging tasks. Offers suggestions to improve work processes and outcomes.

Technical Production team lead / mentorship role on projects, assuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.

Develop and implement best practices for CAD production / design to include standards, processes and tools to enhance productivity and quality.

Maintain project CAD data integrity throughout project lifecycle.

References information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc., and interfaces with engineers as required.

May support field assignments as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of advanced drafting and design concepts, CAD production best practices, and data management standards across project lifecycles.

Familiarity with WSDOT and City of Seattle engineering standards, design criteria, and project delivery procedures is preferred but not required.

Skilled in leading technical production teams, performing advanced CAD and design tasks, and developing/improving production processes and standards.

Ability to mentor and guide staff, ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines, and maintain quality and consistency in deliverables.

Ability to work independently on complex technical assignments, interface with engineers, and support both office and field operations as needed.

Knowledge of performance standards and feedback techniques, with the ability to take ownership of actions, hold self and others accountable, provide constructive feedback, and maintain high expectations for quality and outcomes.

Knowledge of change management strategies and prioritization methods, with the ability to remain flexible, adjust quickly to changing conditions, stay optimistic, and apply clear, solution-focused thinking in dynamic or uncertain situations.

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree / Technical Certificate preferred.

6-10 years of related work experience preferred.

Advanced level CAD and math proficiency and understanding of Drafting and Engineering concepts. Increased proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads (legacy projects), OpenRoads Designer, or other industry-standard applications.

Increased proficiency with intermediate level design concepts.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.

Demonstrates strong ability to work independently with technical tasks.

Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 – $125,000 annually. The firm also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k)-retirement savings plan.
