Job Summary:
The College of Health's Center for Global Health (CGH) is seeking a Program Coordinator. This is a part-time (0.50 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The College of Health’s Center for Global Health (CGH) brings together faculty, students, and partners to advance collaborative global health education, research, and capacity-building. The Program Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting the Center for Global Health and Botswana Global Health Initiative (BGHI), contributing to programs that connect Oregon State University students and faculty with international partners and communities.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work across global health programming, education abroad, research, and partnership engagement. The Program Coordinator will help coordinate the Center’s day-to-day operations and initiatives, including OSU’s Botswana summer study program, while supporting research and capacity-building projects, communications, and relationships with local and international partners. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys managing varied projects, building relationships, and helping turn collaborative ideas into successful programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate day-to-day operations, projects, meetings, workshops, and training activities for the Center for Global Health and Botswana Global Health Initiative.
- Coordinate College of Health education abroad programming, including the Botswana summer study program, student recruitment and preparation, travel logistics, risk management, and post-program activities.
- Support the design, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of global health research and capacity-building initiatives.
- Contribute to grant proposals, reports, budgets, and sponsored-project administration, including tracking expenditures, timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements. Workplan - Program Coordinator.
- Develop and maintain program procedures, records, databases, partner agreements, participant documentation, and evaluation data.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for program partners and support communications, presentations, reports, newsletters, and other outreach materials.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, kinesiology, human development, or related field and three years of experience providing administrative support to a program or office
- Effective communication skills and the ability to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, relationships across all levels, and with external partners.
- Experience in planning and managing programs within the U.S. and abroad, which includes coordinating with co-workers and community partners while managing logistics and budgets.
- Ability to maintain strict confidence with information about faculty, students, and work performed.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities within an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to review and edit professional and scientific documents.
- Experience supporting student workers, graduate assistants, and program participants.
- Training and/or experience in the operation of computers and software applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel, etc.)
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position-qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions, and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with community-based participatory programs.
- Graduate degree in public health, kinesiology, human development, or related field.
- Experience contributing to successful grant proposals or sponsored research applications (e.g., NIH, NSF, or foundation funding).
- Demonstrated project management skills, including tracking timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
- Prior experience living, studying, or working internationally.
- Proficiency with data management or collaboration software (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics, Microsoft Teams).
- Experience in donor relations, fundraising, or partner communication.
Working Conditions/Schedule:
This is a campus-based position with core hours Monday through Friday. Some schedule flexibility is available with supervisor approval. The role requires occasional evening or weekend work for program events and deadlines, periodic international travel to Botswana (typically two to three weeks per trip), and occasional coordination outside standard hours with international partners.Salary Range:
