Program Manager

Description AWF Senior Technical Program Manager role we’re looking to staff. I’d appreciate your help sourcing candidates with strong TPM backgrounds and demonstrated experience owning complex, cross-functional software programs end to end. Role: AWF (contract) Senior Technical Program Manager embedded within a Product and Engineering pod. Operating principle: FTE vs. AWF is a staffing distinction, not a responsibility distinction. The AWF TPM is expected to operate with the same ownership and accountability as an equivalent FTE TPM. What This Role Owns • End-to-end ownership of complex, multi-team programs across scope, planning, execution, risks, dependencies, and outcomes. • A clear, reliable view of program health that enables teams and leadership to make timely decisions. • Lightweight operating mechanisms, including cadences, tools, dashboards, and reporting, that improve alignment, accountability, and execution predictability. Key Responsibilities Program Execution & Planning • Translate Product and Engineering strategy into executable multi-quarter plans with clear milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and trade-offs. • Drive cross-team execution, proactively identifying risks, resolving blockers, and ensuring mitigations have clear ownership. • Establish effective program cadences and readiness mechanisms that surface issues and drive timely decisions. Stakeholder Leadership • Align Product, Engineering, and cross-functional partners around shared outcomes, priorities, and execution plans. • Surface misalignment early, facilitate difficult trade-offs, and drive resolution without unnecessary escalation. • Deliver concise, decision-oriented communication that gives teams and leadership clarity without noise or surprises. Technical & Product Fluency • Understand architecture, systems, and integration points sufficiently to identify risks, challenge assumptions, and influence trade-offs. • Participate effectively in technical and product discussions and translate complexity into clear business and execution implications. Business Impact & Problem Solving • Connect program execution to customer and business outcomes and use data to inform prioritization and resource decisions. • Structure ambiguous problems, develop options with clear trade-offs, and drive teams toward decisions. • Keep teams focused on outcomes rather than activity or output. Candidate Profile • 5+ years in technical program management, product management, or a related discipline leading cross-functional software initiatives. • Proven end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-team programs. • Strong Product and Engineering partnership with sufficient technical fluency to engage in architecture and implementation discussions. • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity, structure complex problems, and influence without authority. • Clear, concise communicator who can adapt effectively across engineering teams, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership. For sourcing, please prioritize candidates with Technical Program Management experience who demonstrate strong technical fluency, cross-functional influence, and independent program ownership. Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72.41 - $72.41/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
