WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As a Program Manager, you lead the successful delivery of ZBeta's consulting and design engagements by overseeing a portfolio of complex client programs and leading a team of Project Managers. You are responsible for ensuring projects are delivered consistently, efficiently, and with the highest standards of quality while fostering an exceptional client experience.

This role combines operational leadership, people management, and project delivery expertise. You partner closely with Principal Consultants, who own the client relationship and strategic direction, to translate client objectives into successful delivery plans. Through coaching, resource planning, process improvement, and portfolio oversight, you ensure ZBeta delivers on its commitments while continuously strengthening our project management practice.

Position Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Program Management

• Lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of consulting and design engagements across multiple clients.
• Partner with Principal Consultants to develop delivery strategies that align with client objectives and consulting recommendations.
• Provide delivery oversight to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
• Monitor portfolio health and proactively identify delivery risks, resource constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for project delivery issues and work collaboratively with project teams to resolve challenges.

Management

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers.
• Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development.
• Conduct performance reviews and support career development planning for project management staff.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing project management culture.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and workforce planning for the Project Management team.

Project Management

• Oversee project staffing and resource allocation across client engagements to optimize utilization and project success.
• Balance workloads while ensuring the appropriate skills and experience are aligned with client needs.
• Monitor project financial performance, utilization, forecasting, and delivery metrics.
• Review portfolio performance and recommend adjustments to improve operational efficiency and client outcomes.
• Support capacity planning and resource forecasting in partnership with consulting leadership.

Delivery Operations

• Establish and continuously improve project management standards, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Ensure consistent application of project governance, risk management, change management, and reporting processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lessons learned, project metrics, and client feedback.
• Collaborate with the Client Deliverables Manager to ensure deliverables meet ZBeta's standards for quality, consistency, and professionalism.

Client Relationship

• Partner with Principal Consultants to deliver a seamless client experience from project initiation through completion.
• Ensure project teams maintain proactive communication with clients regarding project status, risks, milestones, and key decisions.
• Participate in executive client meetings and issue resolution as needed to support successful engagement outcomes.
• Promote a culture of responsiveness, professionalism, and service excellence throughout project delivery.

Collaborate

• Partner closely with Principal Consultants throughout the engagement lifecycle to ensure strategic objectives are successfully translated into execution.
• Support Senior Project Managers by providing guidance, removing obstacles, and facilitating effective decision-making.
• Collaborate with consultants and technical teams to coordinate resources and maintain alignment between consulting recommendations and project execution.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships that promote communication, accountability, and operational excellence

Quality Control

• Ensure projects consistently meet ZBeta's standards for quality, technical accuracy, documentation, and delivery excellence.
• Monitor portfolio performance through key delivery metrics and implement improvements where needed.
• Lead project retrospectives and lessons learned initiatives to continuously strengthen project execution.
• Support the evolution of ZBeta's project management methodologies, templates, and governance processes.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Experience: 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in consulting. 3+ years leading project teams or supervising project managers preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Knowledge:

• Extensive familiarity with low voltage and physical security technology, systems, and design concepts
• Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary client engagements
• Familiarity with project financial management, forecasting, and resource planning

Skills:

• Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency in Studio and Bluebeam is a plus
• Proficiency in project management tools, such as MS Project, SharePoint and QuickBase

Abilities:

• Demonstrated excellence in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form
• Demonstrated ability to identify critical path activities, prioritize tasks and deliverables, and realize consistent progress
• Demonstrated experience leading a cross-functional team, acting as a role model while guiding, developing, and mentoring others

WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

• This position requires the ability to travel up to 20%
• This position is a remote role; you must have a quiet, designated workspace free from distractions and access to high-speed internet (minimum 200Mbps d/l, 10 Mbps u/l)
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
• Candidates must be able to meet client and/or government security screening requirements for the role
• This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship.
• The successful completion of a background check is required upon hire and every two years thereafter
