Program Manager, Teaching Academy Position Title: Program Manager, Teaching Academy Reports To: Managing Director of Program Design and Delivery Department: Program Design and Delivery Location: Remote Salary Range: $70,000 to $95,000 About The Center for Black Educator Development The Center for Black Educator Development exists to (re)build a national Black Teacher Pipeline to achieve educational and racial justice by ensuring there is equity in the recruiting, training, hiring, and retention of quality educators who reflect the cultural backgrounds and share common socio-political interests of the students they serve. Launched in June 2019, the Center for Black Educator Development (CBED) is revolutionizing education by dramatically increasing the number of Black educators so that low-income Black students and other historically disenfranchised students can reap the full benefits of a quality public education. About Teaching Academy Teaching Academy is the first phase of CBED’s multi-year developmental pipeline for future educators. The program is designed to attract, cultivate, and support high school students in becoming future educators who are dedicated to intellectual development, committed to social change, civically aware, and conscious of their role as servant leaders. Through curriculum, professional development, coaching, and partnership support, Teaching Academy helps schools and districts build robust educator pathways within their Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
