Show job description

As a Project Accountant, you will look after the finances of your own roster of artists: from setting up each job to making sure every artist knows exactly what they have earned each month. You will be the go-to person for the more complex project questions, review the work of the team and support our junior project accountants.

This is a client-service role at heart. You will work with artists, agents and producers who are not finance people, so clear explanations and a helpful, solution-oriented attitude matter as much as accuracy.

What you will do

• Be the first point of contact for the more complex project-related finance questions.

• Act as the link between the corporate finance team (accounts payable and receivable) and the business.

• Answer accounting and tax questions from artists and their financial teams.

• Train and support colleagues on our financial systems and processes, and suggest improvements.

• Monthly close: track and report open jobs, reconcile job P&Ls, review profitability and post revenue recognition.

• Prepare and share artists’ monthly earnings statements.

• Create job sheets (POs) for your artists and check contract terms.

• Book vendor invoices and process payments.

• Track each job’s cash position and let Accounts Payable know which vendors to pay each week.

• Issue project invoices in line with contract terms and recognise revenue correctly.

What we are looking for

• A genuine interest or experience in fashion, photography, film, production, marketing or the creative industries.

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.

• 4+ years in project accounting or a client-facing finance role, ideally in an agency, production company, talent management, consultancy or BPO.

• Hands-on experience with invoicing, payables, month-end close and revenue recognition.

• Experience with an ERP (NetSuite is a plus) and confident Excel.

• Experience reviewing or guiding the work of others.

• Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory.

• Excellent communication with non-finance people such as artists, agents and producers.

• Strong attention to detail, good judgement with priorities and tight deadlines, and a high level of confidentiality.

• A genuine interest in fashion, photography, film or the creative industries.

• The wish to grow with a team over the long term.

• The right to work in Spain and the ability to work from the Barcelona office on office days

What we offer

• Hybrid model, 3 days in the Barcelona office, 2 days remote.

• Private health insurance

• Benefits

• An international team and direct work with some of the most recognised names in fashion and luxury.
