Project Architect | Permanent WFH

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our team as a full-service design and technical resources, with a primary focus on high-end residential projects. The ideal candidate combines a strong architectural design sensibility with deep technical and production expertise, and is able to move fluidly between concept design, construction documentation, and buildable execution.

This role will collaborate closely with design teams, interior designers, trades, vendors, and consultants to deliver coordinated, buildable, and detail-rich residential work. The successful candidate will bring a modern design perspective, a sharp eye for constructability, and the creative problem-solving instincts to elevate every project beyond baseline execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support full-service architectural work spanning design, technical development, and production for high-end residential projects.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive construction document sets, including plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and technical drawings.
• Produce high-end detailing for millwork, doors, windows, and other custom architectural elements.
• Design building envelopes suited to cold-weather climates, balancing performance, durability, and design intent.
• Translate design concepts into accurate, buildable technical documentation while preserving the original design vision.
• Coordinate with trades, vendors, and consultants to ensure a fully integrated, well-coordinated design.
• Incorporate interior design considerations into architectural work for a cohesive overall outcome.
• Apply spatial thinking to resolve complex layout and design challenges.
• Select and integrate natural materials and wood-framed construction methods into designs.
• Bring a modern design perspective and creative, solution-oriented thinking to every project.
• Manage projects from schematic design through construction documentation and construction completion.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and compliance with applicable building codes and standards.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and communicate technical information clearly with the broader team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• More than 5 years of professional architectural experience, preferably in a Project Architect or equivalent capacity.
• Proven experience with high-end residential projects.
• Advanced/expert proficiency in Revit.
• Demonstrated experience leading architectural work across design, technical, and production phases while remaining actively involved in production.
• Strong experience developing construction documents and detailed architectural drawings, including high-end millwork, door, and window detailing.
• Strong understanding of architectural detailing, construction methods, building envelope systems, and constructability.
• Experience coordinating architectural documentation with trades, vendors, and other consultants.
• Interior design experience, with a strong spatial understanding of layout and design.
• Wood-framed construction experience.
• Cold-weather design experience.
• A modern design perspective with an affinity for natural materials.
• Proven ability to work as a solution-solver and creative thinker, not simply someone who executes tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, coordination, and time-management skills.
• Experience with Enscape, BIM 360, and Adobe is a plus, but not required.
