Health Systems Insight (HSI) has been engaged to work with the Ministry of Health to review, revise, pilot, and disseminate the Puskesmas accreditation framework in alignment with Indonesia's Integrated Primary Health Care (ILP) approach and Permenkes. The project runs from approximately September 2026 to March 2027.
The Project Assistant supports the team with the day-to-day operational work of the puskesmas accreditation revision project. This position reports to Novie Manurung for task direction, quality checks, and final sign-off, and coordinates with Trihono and Ery Setiawan on technical input. In day-to-day work, the Assistant is expected to manage their own workload independently, rather than being directed task by task.
Project coordination and administration
- Keep the project activity tracker (matrix/Gantt) up to date, flag upcoming deadlines, and follow up on outstanding items with the team
- Organize and take minutes for internal team meetings and coordination calls with KITA SEHAT, the Ministry of Health, and local government
- Manage project correspondence, filing, and document version control
Data collection and enumeration
- Serve as an enumerator during field data collection, helping to conduct structured checklists/interviews (quantitative) and in-depth interviews and FGDs (qualitative) using the revised accreditation instruments
- Support data entry, cleaning, and basic analysis of pilot data, including qualitative thematic analysis
- Take on the same data-collection role for meetings and FGDs conducted in Jakarta and the greater Jabodetabek area, not only at the two pilot-testing provinces
Technical and documentation support
- Take notes and prepare summary reports for meetings, interviews (IDIs), and workshops
- Help compile and organize reference materials (regulations, standards documents, literature) for the technical team
- Assist in preparing dissemination materials (FAQs, summaries, quick-reference guides) under the technical team's direction
Communication and coordination
- Liaise with KITA SEHAT, MoH counterparts, and subnational stakeholders on logistics and scheduling
- Draft and send invitations, reminders, and follow-up communications
- Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day administrative queries from stakeholders
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Currently in the final year of, or has recently completed, an undergraduate (S1) degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, or a related health sciences field
- Prior experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection (e.g., structured surveys, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions), and comfortable analyzing the data collected
- Familiarity with common data collection and analysis methods/tools (e.g., KoBoToolbox/ODK for quantitative data collection; Atlas.ti, NVivo, or structured manual coding for qualitative analysis)
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication in Bahasa Indonesia, with working proficiency in English (project documents and donor reporting are in English)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using shared spreadsheets/trackers
- Detail-oriented, with strong documentation and note-taking skills
- Willing and able to travel for pilot-site field visits (NTT and Jawa Barat), as well as for meetings and FGD data collection within Jakarta and the greater Jabodetabek area
- Proactive and resourceful, comfortable taking initiative in a small team
Duration and Arrangement
Duration: Fixed-term, full-time position for the life of the project (approx. October 2026 – March 2027)
Work arrangement: Jakarta / Hybrid
Travel: Periodic travel within Jakarta/Jabodetabek for meetings and FGD data collection, as well as to the two designated pilot-testing sites
