The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Construction & Commissioning Manager (PCCM) following an internal promotion within our team.
As PCCM, you will take ownership of the Construction & Commissioning scope from project handover through to successful execution, energisation and close-out. Working closely with Project Directors, Site Managers, clients and subcontractors, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget.
This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, technically complex projects that are helping shape the future of the energy transition. With projects spanning multiple years and significant investment, you'll have the platform to make a visible impact while developing your career within a growing and highly strategic area of the business.
We're looking for an ambitious and proactive leader who can anticipate challenges before they arise, drive collaboration across multiple stakeholders, and balance site-level priorities with wider project and commercial objectives. You'll be comfortable making decisions in complex environments, influencing key stakeholders, and delivering results through a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Please note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Lead and coordinate all Construction & Commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle, from mobilisation through to final handover.
- Drive the successful transition from Tendering and Engineering into Construction & Commissioning, ensuring clear ownership of scope, schedule, budget, risks and opportunities.
- Establish and lead high-performing Construction & Commissioning teams, ensuring roles, responsibilities and delivery strategies are clearly defined.
- Lead kick-off meetings and drive alignment across project teams and stakeholders.
- Champion constructability reviews and ensure effective implementation of construction strategies during mobilisation and execution.
- Partner with Project Directors, Site Managers and functional teams to maximise project performance and delivery outcomes.
- Ensure projects are executed safely and in full compliance with contractual, regulatory and HSE requirements.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, forecasts and resource plans, implementing mitigation and recovery measures where required.
- Lead risk and opportunity management activities to drive successful project outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
- Support commercial discussions including change management, variations, claims and cost control initiatives.
- Provide clear reporting and strategic insight to senior leadership teams.
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, best practice sharing and operational excellence initiatives.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering Construction and/or Commissioning activities within major energy, utilities, industrial, infrastructure or engineering projects.
- Experience within HV, HVDC, substations, transmission & distribution, offshore wind, renewable energy or power generation projects would be highly advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, challenge and engage effectively across clients, contractors and project teams.
- Commercial awareness, including exposure to budgeting, forecasting, change management, variations, claims and project performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver within demanding project environments.
- Strong communication, leadership and relationship-building capabilities.
- A proactive mindset with a proven ability to identify issues early and implement practical solutions.
- Comfortable operating in dynamic, fast-paced project environments with evolving priorities.
What We're Looking For
We value capability, attitude and leadership potential as much as technical experience. We're keen to hear from individuals who can demonstrate:
- Strong ownership and accountability for project delivery.
- The ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Confidence leading challenging conversations and driving critical decisions.
- Commercial awareness combined with a strong delivery mindset.
- A practical, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to see the bigger picture while maintaining attention to detail.
- Adaptability, resilience and a collaborative approach.
- A desire to develop and grow within a high-performing project environment.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to contribute to some of the most significant energy infrastructure projects being delivered today while advancing your career in a role that combines leadership, technical complexity and strategic influence.
You'll join a team that is at the forefront of the energy transition, delivering projects that support the future resilience and sustainability of the power network, while providing long-term career development, visibility and progression opportunities.
Whether you're an experienced PCCM, Construction Manager, Commissioning Manager or Senior Project Leader looking to take the next step, we'd love to hear from you.
