Project Controls Analyst (Contract)
๐ Location: Edmonton, AB or Calgary, AB
๐ข Work Model: Hybrid (Onsite Monday, Tuesday & Thursday | Remote Wednesday & Friday)
๐ Start Date: October 2026
โณ Contract Duration: 12 Months (Oct. 19, 2026 โ Oct. 18, 2027)
๐ฐ Pay Rate: Up to $64.00/hour + 4% Vacation Pay
๐ Hours: Monday to Friday, Core Business Hours
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in project controls, cost tracking, construction reporting, and invoice management within complex project environments.
Working closely with project teams, contractors, inspectors, and project managers, you will help ensure accurate cost reporting, budget monitoring, and project performance tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Record, track, and maintain project submissions related to costs, budgets, progress, and change management.
- Review and validate daily labor, equipment, material, and service records.
- Monitor project progress and identify variances from budgets and estimates.
- Conduct project cost analysis and budget performance reporting.
- Support contractor and inspector reporting processes to ensure accurate project documentation.
- Review and validate invoices against contract terms and project requirements.
- Coordinate invoice processing and coding using Oracle Cloud or similar ERP systems.
- Prepare scheduled and ad hoc project reports for stakeholders.
- Participate in project, program, and contractor update meetings.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Controls Advisors, Field Controls Advisors, and project leadership teams.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- University degree, technical diploma, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in project controls, cost controls, construction coordination, or related fields.
- Experience supporting construction projects with cost, schedule, and progress tracking responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Data analysis and reporting
- Experience using ERP platforms such as Oracle or SAP.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Industrial construction project experience.
- Understanding of pipeline, terminal, or facility operations.
- Experience working across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Power BI experience.
