Role description:
At Arcadis, we're supporting one of the UK's most significant aviation infrastructure programmes, the Gatwick Airport Northern Runway Project. We're looking for an experienced Project Cost Consultant to join the commercial team, helping to shape the successful delivery of a major infrastructure investment that will enhance capacity, connectivity and long-term growth at one of the UK's busiest airports.
This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a high-profile programme, partnering with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to provide robust cost management and commercial advice throughout project delivery.
As a Project Cost Consultant, you'll play a key role in managing project costs, forecasting expenditure, analysing commercial performance and supporting informed decision-making across the programme. You'll be involved in both site-based and office-based activities, working closely with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and commercially successfully.
With a strong presence on site, you'll gain first-hand insight into project delivery while helping to manage risk, control costs and drive value throughout the project lifecycle.
Role accountabilities:

Delivering cost management services across major aviation infrastructure projects.

Preparing and maintaining cost plans, budgets, estimates and commercial reports.

Monitoring project performance, forecasting costs and analysing variances.

Supporting the administration and commercial management of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.

Managing compensation events and ensuring contract compliance.

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and supporting mitigation strategies.

Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams.

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and best practice across the programme.
Qualifications & Experience:

At least 5 years' experience in cost management, commercial management or quantity surveying within aviation, infrastructure, construction or transportation projects.

Experience working under NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts, including compensation events and contract administration.

Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and attention to detail.

Experience producing cost reports, forecasts and financial analysis.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Working towards or holding a professional qualification such as MRICS.

CSCS card holder, or willing to obtain one.
