We are hiring a senior Project Engineer focused on HVAC & Mechanical Procurement to join the operations team of our U.S.-based mechanical construction client in New York.

In this role, you will take full ownership of the project lifecycle (from job award through submittals, vendor procurement, equipment scheduling, and closeout). You will work directly with U.S. office project managers, site managers, vendors, and engineers to align equipment orders with site construction timelines. This is an ideal position for Mechanical Engineers, Construction Managers, or HVAC Specialists in LATAM with a strong grasp of MEP construction drawings, equipment takeoffs, and independent project management.

What You’ll Do

• Manage the full project lifecycle from job award through final closeout with minimal supervision.
• Solicit submittal documents from vendors and coordinate the approval process with customers and engineers.
• Read and interpret MEP construction plans to perform accurate equipment takeoffs and material quantity calculations.
• Order equipment and materials strategically, scheduling purchases to align with project timelines and warehouse capacity.
• Coordinate closely with office and on-site project managers to support field operations and fulfill material requests.
• Track all project documentation, including submittals, approvals, purchase orders, and closeout paperwork.
• Communicate proactively with vendors and customers to resolve issues, negotiate timelines, and maintain professional relationships.
• Maintain accurate project records in Excel while helping transition operations to a new integrated project management platform.

What You’ll Bring

• English Level: Advanced Technical & Conversational English (B2+ / C1 mandatory).
• Experience: 3 to 5+ years of experience in HVAC project coordination, mechanical construction, or MEP procurement.
• Blueprint & Takeoff Expertise: Demonstrated track record reading MEP construction plans, specifications, and conducting equipment takeoffs.
• Technical Workflow Knowledge: Proven experience managing submittal approvals, vendor purchasing, construction scheduling, and closeout documentation.
• Core Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, tracking, PO management) and MS Office Suite. Adaptability to learn new project management software.
• Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, HVAC Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Soft Skills: Independent problem-solver, proactive communicator, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
