About Us

Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Project Executive – Level 3 for a contract opportunity supporting complex Network Modernization and enterprise IT initiatives.

The successful consultant will provide senior project leadership and strategic oversight for IT projects involving network infrastructure modernization, cloud environments, virtualization, software-defined networking, security architecture, high-performance computing, business process re-engineering, custom applications and portals, and project intake and authorization processes.

This role will work collaboratively with senior leadership, project teams, technical specialists, system administrators, stakeholders, and other subject matter experts to ensure successful delivery of complex IT initiatives.

Position Summary

The Project Executive will provide senior-level leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that project objectives align with organizational strategy and that projects are delivered within approved scope, timelines, budget, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The resource will be responsible for establishing project direction, overseeing project planning and execution, managing risks and issues, supporting resource and scope decisions, communicating with senior stakeholders, and providing executive-level reporting and strategic recommendations.

Work may be performed remotely from within Canada, with occasional onsite attendance in the National Capital Region or regional offices as required by the specific assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and align project goals and objectives with organizational strategic priorities.
  • Develop and review project roadmaps, timelines, key milestones, Project Management Plans, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Establish and maintain project scope, schedules, deliverables, and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to support resource allocation and budget adherence.
  • Establish and maintain risk management plans and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Monitor project execution, progress, quality, timelines, and performance against approved plans.
  • Identify and address project bottlenecks, risks, issues, dependencies, and implementation challenges.
  • Make high-level decisions regarding project direction, resource reallocation, and scope changes in liaison with senior management and with appropriate approvals.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project teams, senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver regular executive-level reports covering project status, budget, risks, performance, milestones, and key issues.
  • Escalate critical issues to senior management and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Provide strategic insights regarding new project opportunities and potential project expansions.
  • Support project intake review and authorization processes as required.
  • Ensure formal handover of project deliverables and confirmation that project objectives have been achieved.
  • Participate in meetings, presentations, workshops, consultations, and documentation reviews with project stakeholders and project authorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Federal Government Reliability Status.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience within the last 15 years performing Project Executive duties within an IT environment.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and aligning project goals with organizational strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience developing Project Management Plans, project roadmaps, project timelines, key milestones, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining risk management plans and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience making high-level decisions regarding project direction, resource allocation, and scope changes in collaboration with senior management.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and delivering executive-level reports covering project status, budget, risks, and performance.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic insights regarding new project opportunities or potential expansions.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Experience working within complex IT environments and multidisciplinary project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in good standing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
  • Experience supporting government or other large public-sector organizations.
  • Experience with network modernization, cloud computing, virtualization, software-defined networking, network function virtualization, security architecture, or enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise IT transformation or modernization initiatives.
  • Experience working with senior executives, project authorities, technical specialists, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Compensation

Salary Range: $90.00 - $110.00 / hour
