Requisition ID 2026-4606 Job Summary As a Project Manager supporting the VA's DEAN (Discovery, Education, and Affiliate Networks) Operations and Initiative Transformation effort, you will manage individual projects and workstreams within a large-scale program, ensuring assigned deliverables are planned, executed, and closed out on scope, on schedule, and within budget. Working under the direction of the Task Order Project Lead (TOPL) / Program Manager, you will support the execution of complex, high-visibility initiatives within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), directly contributing to program goals that improve the health outcomes and experience of Veterans across an integrated Health Care System. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, results-driven project manager who is comfortable operating in fast-paced federal environments, works well within a broader program governance structure, and can translate project-level objectives into executable, measurable plans. Primary Responsibilities Serve as Project Manager for one or more projects within the DEAN program, providing day-to-day management of assigned project activities and ensuring deliverables are completed on scope, on schedule, and within budget. Plan, initiate, manage, execute, and close out assigned projects in support of VHA's integrated health care system, applying structured project management methodologies aligned with PMI standards and federal contracting requirements. Support the Task Order Project Lead (TOPL) / Program Manager by providing project-level status updates, escalating risks and issues, and recommending mitigation strategies to advance DEAN mission objectives. Develop and maintain project management artifacts including project schedules, risk and issue logs, action item trackers, and status reports in accordance with VA documentation standards. Coordinate with internal project teams, VA program offices, and partner contractors to align efforts, resolve dependencies, and drive execution of assigned workstreams within the broader DEAN transformation initiative. Monitor project performance metrics, participate in lessons-learned reviews, and support continuous improvement of project execution processes in alignment with VHA's operational standards. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience (with a BA/BS Degree) successfully managing a large-scale program, encompassing multiple projects, with a total lifecycle budget and complexity comparable to the task order at hand, including at least 4 years supporting a large corporation, government agency, or health care organization. BA/BS Degree in a relevant field such as Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related discipline, with commensurate experience as outlined above. Experience shall include planning, initiating, managing, executing, and closing out programs or projects in support of an agency's mission. Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust clearance (Tier 2 / MBI) and comply with all VA information security, privacy, and system access requirements including VA PIV credentialing and relevant onboarding standards. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship; this position is subject to federal contractor employment eligibility verification (E-Verify). Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable quality-equivalent certification is required at time of hire, with a minimum of four years' experience supporting a large corporation or government agency, preferably a large Health Care organization. Familiarity with standard operations of VHA preferred. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with organizational leadership preferred. Knowledge of the DEAN mission and function preferred.
