IT Project Manager – AI Delivery & Enablement
Location: Edmonton, AB – Remote (Alberta residents only)
Employment Type: Contract – 12 Months + Possible 12-Month
ExtensionHours: 36.25 hours/week | 1,783.50 approved hours
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead enterprise AI enablement and delivery initiatives across a large, complex organization. This role will oversee projects involving enterprise AI licensing and consumption, cloud platform integration, security and privacy governance, and training and adoption.
The successful candidate will manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors, and guide AI capabilities from pilot through approval, enterprise rollout, and operational handover. Strong project governance, cloud and SaaS knowledge, change management, and executive communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple AI enablement projects across licensing, cloud integration, governance, security, and adoption.
- Develop project charters, business cases, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, and delivery strategies.
- Manage enterprise AI licensing, allocation, provisioning, utilization, chargeback, and cost-recovery initiatives.
- Coordinate cloud and AI platform enablement involving Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Cloud, APIs, identity and access management, and data connectors.
- Manage AI pilots and guide successful capabilities through governance approvals, enterprise enablement, and operational handover.
- Coordinate Security Threat and Risk Assessments (STRAs), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), data-residency reviews, and responsible AI requirements.
- Plan and oversee UAT, release-readiness reviews, deployment, and transition to ongoing operations.
- Coordinate role-based training, stakeholder communications, change management, and adoption tracking.
- Manage vendors, project dependencies, shared resources, risks, issues, and competing priorities.
- Prepare project status reports, recommendations, and executive-level presentations.
- Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, ministry stakeholders, and project sponsors to achieve measurable outcomes.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
- Strong IT project management experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale technology initiatives.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, budgets, schedules, resources, dependencies, and risks.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Cloud, SaaS licensing, cloud consumption, and identity/access management.
- Familiarity with Generative AI and agentic AI, including AI assistants, agents, grounding, model selection, responsible AI risks, and consumption-based costs.
- Experience coordinating security and privacy assessments, including STRA and PIA processes.
- Experience with UAT, release readiness, deployment, and operational handover.
- Experience managing stakeholder communications, change management, training, and adoption in large, distributed organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive-level reports and presentations.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing enterprise AI licensing and consumption for platforms such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Google Gemini Enterprise, or Claude Enterprise.
- Experience with ServiceNow provisioning workflows, licence management, chargeback, and cost recovery.
- Experience coordinating cloud landing zones, sandbox environments, API enablement, data connectors, and AI service integrations.
- Experience with responsible AI governance, information classification, privacy, and data-residency requirements.
- Familiarity with public-sector IT policies, enterprise architecture, vendor licensing, and procurement processes.
- Experience delivering AI pilots and transitioning them into governed enterprise services.
- Experience working with business champions and distributed adoption networks.
