Project Manager | Industrial & Logistics Construction

Alexandria, Sydney | $30m–$50m Projects | Established National Builder

Up to 12 additional paid wellness days | Strong project pipeline | Genuine leadership progression

The Opportunity

  • Common Good Partners has been exclusively retained by a highly regarded national construction business to appoint an experienced Project Manager into its Sydney delivery team.
  • Established nearly 40 years ago, the business has built an excellent reputation delivering complex industrial, logistics and specialist Design & Construct projects for high-profile clients and end users.
  • With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects valued between $30m and $50m, this is an opportunity to join a well-established contractor that combines the resources and project capability of a national business with a collaborative, people-focused working environment.

About the Role

  • The business is looking for a commercially astute, well-rounded Project Manager who can take ownership of projects, build strong client relationships and contribute positively to an experienced delivery team.
  • Reporting to the NSW Manager, you'll play a key role in managing industrial and logistics projects from early design development through to practical completion.
  • These are genuine Design & Construct projects, often commencing at schematic design stage, requiring strong coordination between clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams.
  • The position is predominantly based in the Alexandria office, with approximately 3–4 days per week in the office and regular site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of project delivery, including programme, budget, quality and commercial outcomes.
  • Managing project financials, cost reporting, forecasting, procurement and subcontractor performance.
  • Leading design coordination and consultant management through the full D&C lifecycle.
  • Working closely with Site Managers and construction teams to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
  • Identifying and managing project risks, variations and commercial opportunities.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to project teams while maintaining a collaborative and accountable culture.

Qualifications

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager who combines strong commercial and technical capability with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager with an established Tier 2 or Tier 3 head contractor.
  • Experience delivering commercial or industrial construction projects valued at $30m or above.
  • Strong Design & Construct experience, particularly early-stage design involvement and consultant management.
  • Proven commercial capability across procurement, cost reporting, forecasting, contract administration and budget management.
  • The ability to confidently manage clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style, commercial accountability and a genuine team-first approach.

Industrial construction experience is advantageous but not essential. Project Managers from broader commercial construction backgrounds with genuine D&C delivery experience are encouraged to apply. We may also consider an exceptional Senior Project Engineer or Senior Contracts Administrator who has demonstrated project leadership and substantial responsibility for commercial and financial performance.

Preferred Skills

  • Industrial construction experience.
  • Experience as a Senior Project Engineer or Senior Contracts Administrator with demonstrated project leadership and substantial responsibility for commercial and financial performance.

Pay range and compensation package

  • Up to 12 Additional Paid Days Off: One additional paid wellness day each month, on top of annual leave.
  • Genuine Career Progression: Clear opportunities to develop into senior project delivery and Team Leader positions.
  • Strong Project Pipeline: Exposure to complex industrial, logistics and specialist D&C projects.
  • Established National Builder: Nearly 40 years of experience, long-standing client relationships and a stable workforce.
  • Experienced Leadership: Supportive senior management, mentoring and ongoing professional development.
  • On-Site Parking: Convenient facilities at the Alexandria office.
  • Employee Wellbeing: Dedicated Wellness Manager, healthy breakfasts and regular social and sporting events.
  • Collaborative Culture: A team-focused business that values accountability, open communication and long-term relationships.
