Project Manager (Architecture License is Required)

Is this job info correct?

At Cuningham, we design with deep respect for the real world, the budgets, the schedules, the codes, and the people who will use the spaces we create. That respect shows up most clearly in how a project gets managed. We're looking for a Project Manager who is a licensed Architect to join our Denver office and lead project teams through every phase with the kind of steady judgment that comes from experience across markets, keeping projects grounded in both craft and reality. This role is built for a licensed architect who has led work across multiple markets, civic and mixed-use experience preferred, and is willing and able to work across market types as our project needs shift. You'll coordinate scope, schedules, budgets, and contracts across client and consultant groups, building teams that do their best work because they feel supported doing it. We believe in getting better together, and that starts with project leaders who care about the people around them as much as the outcomes they're driving toward. If you've got a track record of spotting opportunities for additional services or contributing to business development, even better, we'd love to put that instinct to use in service of a world made better by selfless design. What You'll Do: Lead small to medium project teams to successful outcomes aligned with project goals and success metrics Build high performing teams alongside the Project Executive and other project leaders, assessing team strengths and growth areas and assigning tasks accordingly Develop scope, deliverables, schedules, and fees into comprehensive proposals in collaboration with project leadership Support design and technical leaders in delivering coordinated packages across multi-discipline, multi-phase projects Maintain and update work plans, labor plans, schedules, and team tasks on a regular basis Foster collaboration, open communication, and accountability across the team, raising issues to the Project Executive as needed Monitor project budgets and align tasks and deliverables with team time and performance Plan and lead internal and external meetings and communications Manage project financial performance using Vantagepoint and related reporting tools Identify opportunities for additional services and pursue those fees proactively Identify and manage project risk, raising concerns with the Project Executive as they arise Own day to day client relations in coordination with the Project Executive Administer owner and consultant contracts, including budget, schedule, and scope reviews with clients Maintain oversight of technical submissions requiring a signature and seal Support Studio Leaders with staffing decisions and revenue projections Contribute to the project pursuit process, including proposal content and interview preparation What We're Looking For: Architecture License is required 10+ years of project management experience across multiple markets, with civic, healthcare and mixed use experience preferred Willingness and ability to work across a range of market sectors as project needs require Business development experience is a plus Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, AIA Contracts, MS Project (or similar), and Deltek Vantagepoint Familiarity with Revit/BIM 360, Miro, and Microsoft Teams A steady hand for managing risk, budget, and schedule without losing sight of the people or the design A genuine curiosity about how projects and teams can work better, and the follow through to make that happen Care for the people you work with, clients and teammates alike, as much as for the projects themselves Why Cuningham? At Cuningham, we believe the best work happens when people are supported, challenged, and connected. Whether collaborating across teams, engaging with our communities, or shaping meaningful design solutions, we bring pragmatic creativity and disciplined execution to every project — and we support each other through it all. We nurture an equitable work environment where curiosity is celebrated, craft is valued, and growth is prioritized. Alongside a team that brings low-ego expertise and active leadership day-to-day, you’ll work on complex, high-stakes projects that demand bold thinking and disciplined delivery. _________________________________________________________________________________ Cuningham is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and values the strength diversity brings to the workplace when combined with equity and justice. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age, genetic information, national origin, disability, military, or veteran status.
