About us | Mō mātou Here at Digital Services, we are responsible for the provision, maintenance, and support of information and communication technologies and business systems within the University of Otago community. We are one of the largest ICT operations in NZ, supporting tens of thousands of users, a big network across multiple campuses and a huge range of systems. The role | Te mahi You will be part of our exciting roadmap of cyber security projects, getting the opportunity to lead cyber projects that help our whole University Community. You will manage the end-to-end delivery of challenging, high-value cyber projects, working within the Digital Projects Office, and the wider Digital Services team. You will take ownership of the projects from concept to closure, and will liaise closely with all stakeholders, vendors, and users. In this role you will be: • Working closely with our CISO, leading multiple projects within our cyber security roadmap. • Managing projects end to end, working with technical experts, wider digital services, and stakeholders across our whole university community. • Working in a growing digital projects team with a chance to contribute to how we work. • No boring run of the mill or 'easy' projects - lots of opportunities and challenges to get your teeth into! Skills and experience | Kā pūkeka me kā wheako You are an experienced project manager, having led and loved working in cyber security projects. You need to have a good understanding of digital environments, and engaging with a diverse stakeholder group. You will be a great people person, with a positive proactive attitude and a willingness to get things done. You will be able to manage multi-functional teams, leading them to deliver great business outcomes. A sense of humour would also be useful! As you will be working in an agile manner, it's important that you enjoy problem solving, are an effective communicator and can adapt to shifting priorities. You will be dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders, so it's important that you can build productive and positive relationships with a range of people. Essential: • A relevant tertiary level qualification (in project management, information technology or a relevant business discipline) and/or recognised qualification(s) appropriate to the role (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP). • Considerable experience in Information Technology (IT) project management and delivering IT projects. • Proven experience working with project management methodologies and tools, including scoping, planning, resourcing and monitoring project outcomes. • Proven ability to analyse and interpret information, prepare written reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business, client focused solutions. • Demonstrated commercial acumen. Preferred: • Extensive experience in cyber security project management in a large or complex organisation. • Demonstrated project leadership experience. • Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract administration, contract and consultant management. Further details | Pūroko This is a full-time (37.5 hours), fixed term position for 18 months. We have a strong preference that the role is located in Ōtepoti/Dunedin, however we will consider remote work. We offer a competitive salary, five weeks’ annual leave, a 6.75% superannuation scheme, and the ability to achieve real work/life balance.
