Job Title: Project Officer
Reporting to: Community Food Members Lead
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours)
Terms: Fixed-term until December 2029.
33 days holiday (including bank holidays) pro rata. After two years’ service this
increases by 1 day a year up to a maximum of 5 days (pro rata). 1 day volunteering leave per year also available (pro rata). EAP available to all staff.
Salary: Starting salary £26,500-£27,500

FareShare Cymru is an award-winning independent charity and part of the national Felix network of surplus food redistribution charities. We turn an environmental problem into a social
solution. We source quality surplus food – from food retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers – engaging volunteers to redistribute to local charities and community groups that provide meals which bring people together and support and strengthen their communities.
This post is a new role in response to the growth of the charity’s operations with an identified need to expand into West Wales.
Circumstances
Primarily remote working, with regular travel throughout West Wales and occasional travel to our Cardiff offices. The role may require the post holder to travel throughout Wales and attend events out of hours.
Purpose of Post
To support FareShare Cymru in delivery of its growth strategy and expansion into West Wales. To work with our existing Community Food Members in West Wales and develop relationships alongside desk-based research for expansion of our services into West Wales. To look at a longer-term plan for delivery of FareShare Cymru in West Wales.
Responsibilities
CFM Recruitment and Retention
· Recruit and sign-up new Community Food Members (CFMs) and achieve recruitment targets in West Wales.
· Provide account management to new and existing West Wales community food projects and develop their food needs, including ensuring all required checks are kept up to date.
· Develop new relationships and partnerships with e.g. local food networks, CVCs and other organisations to ensure non-duplication and efficient delivery of FareShare Cymru in West Wales.
· Work with the CFM Lead and Support Officer as part of the membership team, to grow the presence of FareShare Cymru in West Wales.
Development of West Wales
· Research and develop a delivery plan for FareShare Cymru in West Wales in the long-term, working in partnership with other West Wales based organisations.
· Ensure plans and delivery are aligned with need in West Wales, this will require accurate gathering of information and use of data.
· Implement expansion of FareShare Cymru into West Wales, working with the wider FareShare Cymru team.
· Work with the Volunteer and Employability Lead to recruit and support volunteers for the delivery of FareShare Cymru in West Wales.
· Work with the Food Sourcing Lead develop relationships with food businesses in West Wales.
Other
· Monitoring and reporting of project progress.
· Represent FareShare Cymru at meetings and events.
· To carry out any other duties which may be necessary in the light of the main purpose of the job
Person Specification
Essential
· Good level of English and Maths
· IT Literate – including use of email, Microsoft Office and database systems
· Data driven with the ability to interpret data and use this to inform future activity
· Experience of developing partnerships and successfully working in partnership on projects
· Experience of working as part of a team supporting and delivering projects and work plans to agreed time, cost and quality indicators
· Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, clear ability to adapt approach to a diverse range of audiences including presentation skills
· Willing and able to develop new skills and take on challenges
· Organised, able to meet targets and deadlines and to work under pressure
· High degree of motivation, commitment and the ability to use own initiative
· Proactive and self-motivated
· Commitment to the ethos of the Third Sector and the work of FareShare Cymru
