Show job description

We are seeking individuals with boundless energy, unwavering persistence, and an appetite for learning. We value individuals who approach challenges with enthusiasm and creativity. If you're ready to embark on a journey of continuous growth and contribute to meaningful solutions, we want you on our team.

As a Project Planner, you will provide accurate project pricing and estimates and expedite all project material for our industrial automation and power distribution teams. You will coordinate supplier quotes, procurement plans, and delivery commitments to help projects meet cost and schedule requirements. Working closely with Project Managers, Application Engineers, Technical Account Managers, purchasing, suppliers, and other stakeholders, you will identify material risks early and communicate clear, timely updates. The successful candidate must be resourceful, organized, and detail oriented, with a commitment to customer service and continuous learning.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Work with Project Managers, Application Engineers, and Technical Account Managers to review project scope, specifications, drawings, and bills of material (BOMs). Verify quantities, part numbers, and revisions, and resolve missing or conflicting information before pricing or ordering
  • Prepare accurate, timely project estimates using current supplier pricing, material costs, freight, applicable labor and services, and approved pricing guidelines. Clearly document assumptions, exclusions, quote validity, and cost risks for project team review
  • Issue supplier and vendor requests for quotation (RFQs), track responses, and compare quotes for scope, technical compliance, price, availability, lead time, and commercial terms. Validate costs and delivery commitments, and resolve discrepancies with purchasing and engineering
  • Develop material procurement plans aligned with project milestones and required delivery dates. Identify long-lead items, coordinate order priorities and release timing with purchasing, and confirm technical approvals before commitments are made
  • Review order acknowledgments against purchase orders and approved BOMs for quantities, pricing, part numbers, shipping details, and promised dates. Coordinate correction of discrepancies and maintain an accurate record of supplier commitments
  • Expedite and track all project material from order placement through shipment and receipt. Follow up with suppliers on production progress, obtain updated delivery dates and shipment tracking, and coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and receiving
  • Proactively manage shortages, backorders, partial shipments, damaged material, and delivery delays. Escalate schedule and cost impacts early, and coordinate recovery plans, alternate sources, or engineering-approved substitutions with the appropriate stakeholders
  • Coordinate material availability with Project Managers and other stakeholders to support fabrication, assembly, testing, and field delivery schedules. Communicate changes promptly and recommend adjustments to procurement priorities when project needs change
  • Maintain material status reports showing ordered, acknowledged, shipped, received, and outstanding items, required dates, shortages, and action owners. Provide timely updates to Project Managers, Application Engineers, Technical Account Managers, purchasing, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Support project handoff with organized estimates, supplier quotes, approved BOMs, procurement plans, lead times, and open risks. Track scope and BOM revisions, update pricing and material requirements, and communicate their impact on cost and schedule
  • Maintain complete, accessible project records, including RFQs, quote comparisons, estimate revisions, order acknowledgments, expediting notes, and delivery documentation. Follow up on open actions and help improve estimating and material coordination processes
