Role description:
We’re looking for an experienced Project Planner to join Arcadis and support the delivery of a major infrastructure programme from our client’s site in Dover.
This is a hands-on planning role for someone who can build and maintain robust project schedules, challenge progress and provide the insight needed to keep complex projects on track. The role requires regular client-site attendance in Dover [2 days per week].
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, baseline plans and work breakdown structures.
- Manage schedules throughout the project lifecycle, monitoring progress against agreed baselines.
- Identify schedule variances, risks and potential delays, supporting the development of recovery and mitigation plans.
- Analyse programme performance and provide clear, accurate progress reporting and forecasting.
- Support earned value and wider project controls reporting.
- Review and challenge contractor programmes, assumptions and schedule performance.
- Work closely with the client, project managers, commercial teams and other delivery disciplines to ensure plans accurately reflect project delivery.
- Help improve planning processes, reporting and the use of planning and digital tools.
You’ll bring strong project planning and scheduling experience within infrastructure, engineering or construction, ideally gained on complex programmes.
You’ll also have:
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or equivalent planning software.
- Experience developing, maintaining and updating integrated project schedules.
- A good understanding of project controls, earned value management (EVM), schedule performance and progress reporting.
- The ability to interrogate programmes, identify risks and challenge delivery assumptions.
- Strong stakeholder and client-facing communication skills.
- Experience working within complex contracting and multidisciplinary delivery environments.
- The ability to work regularly from the client site in Dover [2 days per week].
Experience within rail, highways, aviation, ports or other major infrastructure environments would be advantageous, as would membership of a relevant professional body.
