Project Systems & Data Analyst - Ocado Logistics
Hatfield Head Office
Hybrid
Why Ocado? Here at Ocado Logistics it’s our mission to provide an outstanding customer experience for our partners, developing ground-breaking technology, opening multiple sites at an accelerating rate and engaging in exciting new business partnerships around the world - changing the way the world shops, for good.
We are the beating heart of our UK business and comprise a network of cutting edge warehouses and offices across the country that ensure that we optimise the experience and use our proprietary technology across the supply chain to deliver an exceptional shopping experience. At the same time delivering bags of possibilities for our employees and a career that will ensure no two days are ever the same.
About the role: We wouldn’t be able to positively impact the way the world shops without our passionate team members - who keep our business running, our vans delivering, our customers' products picked and packed and our proprietary technology operating at optimum levels. Seamless execution across our portfolio requires clear visibility, robust automation, and intelligent data insights.
We now have an opportunity for a Project Systems & Data Analyst to join our Programme Management team to design, build, and maintain bespoke portfolio management tools, automated data pipelines, and AI-driven reporting solutions—leveraging modern "vibe coding" techniques to rapidly turn ideas into functional, high-impact products.
You will be:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining our digital PMO ecosystem as a Project Systems & Data Analyst, building bespoke tools, interactive dashboards, and automated reporting to monitor schedules, budgets, and resource capacity.
- Using AI assistants (like Claude) and "vibe coding" workflows to rapidly prototype, iterate, and build front-end web interfaces (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Apps Scripts from scratch.
- Building automated data pipelines and cloud integrations (using BigQuery, APIs, and Google Apps Script) to streamline portfolio visibility while maintaining rigorous data governance and system stability.
- Partnering directly with project managers and business stakeholders across Ocado Logistics to translate business requirements into user-friendly technical solutions and drive high platform adoption.
- Extracting, cleansing, and analysing complex datasets to produce actionable insights and clear visual reporting that support continuous business improvement.
About you:
- Practical capability in data analysis, visualization, or coding whether gained in a traditional analyst role, through self-taught hobby projects, or via AI-driven "vibe coding" where you guide LLMs to write and refine code for real-world projects.
- Hands-on familiarity or a strong baseline knowledge in the Google Ecosystem (Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Apps Script), cloud databases (e.g., BigQuery), and front-end tools (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
- Proactive, curious, and fast-learning mindset with a natural enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools to solve complex problems and build web applications quickly.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings and data into clear, accessible insights for non-technical team members.
- Basic understanding of or curiosity to learn fundamental project management concepts (such as stage gates, resource capacity planning, and status tracking) to bridge technical tools with real-world business needs.
What you can expect to receive in return: At Ocado we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported, so you’ll find a safe and collaborative atmosphere that is as fresh as our produce as well as an award winning recognition programme and benefits package that includes a healthy work-life balance, extensive healthcare coverage, competitive salaries, and exclusive employee discounts.
