About Our Client:

This organization operates within the insurance claims industry, focusing on managing auto property damage claims. It addresses the complex challenges of investigating, evaluating, and resolving insured and claimant auto property damage claims in compliance with regulatory standards, specifically Regulation 64. The entity ensures appropriate claim handling by applying relevant laws and regulations to achieve fair and efficient claim settlements.


About the Opportunity:

The PROPERTY DAMAGE ADJUSTER is responsible for the comprehensive management of auto property damage claims. This role involves conducting detailed investigations, making liability and coverage determinations, and negotiating settlements to resolve claims effectively. The position plays a crucial part in ensuring claims are evaluated accurately and resolved in a manner that meets regulatory compliance while maintaining customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities:

  • Initiate investigations upon receipt of new claims
  • Obtain written or verbal statements from all involved parties
  • Determine coverage and liability based on investigations
  • Evaluate and value damages and set reserves for claims
  • Review repair estimates and complete total loss valuations
  • Manage subrogation matters related to property damage
  • Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, or legal representatives
  • Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and compliance with Regulation 64
  • Document all claim activities in the claims notepad
  • Maintain diaries on all files
  • Follow organizational policies and supervisory instructions


Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of Regulation 64 and Vehicle and Traffic Laws
  • Understanding of liability and comparative negligence principles
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience with auto property damage claims handling
  • Minimum one year of experience investigating and negotiating comparative negligence claims
  • Computer literacy
  • Residency in New York State


Pay Range and Compensation Package:
