Position Summary

MRIGlobal is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Proposal Specialist to join our Government Proposal Management Center.

The Proposal Specialist supports federal proposal development activities from solicitation release through submission, working closely with proposal managers, technical staff, business units, and mission support personnel to help develop compliant, compelling, and competitive proposals. Reporting to the Manager of the Government Proposal Management Center, this position contributes to proposal planning, compliance tracking, content development, document production, review coordination, and submission support. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining proposal quality, consistency, and adherence to organizational processes while supporting the continued development of proposal management tools, templates, and resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support proposal efforts for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and other government opportunities.
  • Assist with solicitation reviews, compliance assessments, and proposal readiness activities.
  • Develop and maintain proposal schedules, compliance matrices, annotated outlines, and supporting planning documents under the direction of Proposal Managers.
  • Coordinate proposal meetings, document reviews, status tracking, and action item follow-up.
  • Support authors, reviewers, and contributors throughout the proposal development process.
  • Review proposal content for compliance, formatting consistency, completeness, and adherence to solicitation requirements.
  • Assist with Pink, Red, Gold, White Glove, and other proposal reviews by managing logistics, collecting feedback, and tracking comment resolution.
  • Track proposal actions, deliverables, milestones, and deadlines to help ensure on-time completion.
  • Support development and maintenance of proposal templates, boilerplate content, graphics, resumes, past performance information, and other reusable proposal assets.
  • Assist with final proposal production, assembly, quality checks, and submission activities.
  • Support implementation of proposal processes, tools, templates, and best practices designed to improve proposal efficiency and consistency.
  • Maintain the proposal content library by organizing, updating, and managing reusable proposal materials, templates, lessons learned, and past performance content.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, English, Technical Writing, Marketing, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience supporting proposal development, technical writing, business operations, project coordination, communications, or government contracting activities.
  • Knowledge of government solicitations, proposal development processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, writing, editing, document management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal government proposals.
  • Experience within a government contractor, contract research organization, nonprofit research institute, or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with APMP, Shipley, or other proposal management methodologies.
  • Experience supporting scientific research, engineering, technology, defense, national security, public health, laboratory, or other technical programs.
  • Experience using AI-enabled productivity, content management, and collaboration tools to improve proposal development efficiency and quality.

Pay Range - $59,300 - $67,000

The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
