Definition Role
The PV Engineer will be the professional responsible for developing, coordinating, and validating the technical design of photovoltaic (PV) systems in a structured, accurate, and efficient manner within Forte. Their work ensures that PV system designs are technically optimized, compliant with applicable standards and regulations, and aligned with project, contractual, and performance requirements, while supporting safe, reliable, and cost-effective solar energy solutions.

Their work ensures that PV system designs are technically optimized, compliant with applicable standards and regulations, and aligned with project, contractual, and performance requirements, while supporting safe, reliable, and cost-effective solar energy solutions.
General Responsibilities
- Design Services
- Identify technical constraints and restrictions affecting PV projects, including environmental conditions, soil conditions, and site-specific limitations.
- Review, adapt, and optimize PV system designs in accordance with local site conditions and contractual Employer’s Requirements.
- Ensure design solutions consider physical layout, electrical layout, shading analysis, system operation, and long-term performance.
- Analyze on-site conditions and propose optimal photovoltaic module layouts, including the placement of inverters and trench routing.
- Support feasibility studies and technical design development from early project stages.
- Procurement and Pre-Construction Phase
- Support environmental risk management activities related to PV projects.
- Perform inspections and quality checks of photovoltaic modules and related components at manufacturing facilities.
- Review and evaluate technical specifications of equipment during procurement.
- Recommend suitable project equipment, including PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, and energy storage systems (if applicable).
- Construction Phase
- Provide technical support and expert advice during project development, pre-construction, and construction phases.
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure adherence to quality, health, and safety requirements.
- Perform quality control of installed and operational PV systems.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to solar farm installation and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate testing of PV panels and other system components.
- Support preparation of the solar plant for commissioning and grid connection.
- Review as-built documentation and perform PV plant as-built reviews.
- Carry out project performance reviews, including energy production evaluation.
- Prepare and maintain regular reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on construction progress, quality, and technical status.
- University degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience (preferably 5 years) in PV design review, with demonstrated hands-on design experience.
- Proven experience in ground-mounted, utility-scale photovoltaic projects.
- Strong knowledge of European and international standards, including IEC and BS; experience gained in Ireland or the UK will be considered a strong advantage.
- Practical on-site experience during construction, commissioning, and operational phases is highly desirable.
- Experience in Owner’s Engineer (OE) roles and solid understanding of FIDIC contracts.
- Very good command of MS Office tools and SharePoint.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work on projects across Europe. Key markets are presently Poland, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands.
