Python Techlead (AI-Augmented Development)

Responsibilities

As a Senior Python Backend Engineer at NSC, you will have the opportunity to work remotely, with fixed working hours from 3PM to 11PM Vietnam time (the rest is flexible).

We are looking for a Senior Python Backend Engineer to join the development of a modern enterprise platform. You will build new product features, modernize an existing Python codebase, and collaborate closely with architects to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable backend solutions.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, improving software architecture, and leveraging AI tools to enhance development productivity.

Main responsibilities

1. Product Development

• Design and develop new backend modules from technical specifications through production deployment.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, including APIs, data models, workflows, and permission models.
• Develop RESTful services following clean architecture principles and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend and platform teams to deliver end-to-end product features.

2. Platform Modernization

• Refactor and modernize an existing Python/Flask application into a scalable, maintainable architecture.
• Improve code quality by reducing technical debt, simplifying legacy components, and strengthening automated test coverage.
• Deliver large-scale refactoring safely through regression testing and incremental releases.

3. Quality & Security

• Review application code, including AI-generated code, to ensure quality, security, and architectural consistency.
• Design secure authentication, authorization, and session management solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, deployment notes, and architecture documentation.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure reliable deployments and operational stability.

Job Requirements

• 8+ years of backend software development experience with strong expertise in Python.
• Hands-on experience with Flask or similar Python web frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of:

- RESTful API design and development

- Authentication, authorization, and web security

- Relational databases and ORM

- Background job processing (Celery or equivalent)

- Software architecture, clean architecture, dependency injection, and design patterns

- Automated testing, code review, and large-scale refactoring

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar, with the ability to review and validate AI-generated code.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Experience working on complex enterprise systems with a strong focus on code quality, maintainability, and security.
