QA (Automation) Engineer
Torentify# QA (Automation) Engineer - End to End
## About the Role
Priva is seeking a **QA Automation Engineer** focused on **end-to-end testing of distributed software systems**. This role will establish a coherent, platform-level quality approach across the capabilities owned by **Team Mobius and Team Rangers**, bringing together existing integration and system-level testing approaches rather than creating another isolated test suite.
You will work across services and teams to identify dependencies, data flows, failure modes, and operational risks, then translate those risks into maintainable automated tests and stronger release evidence. You will collaborate with engineers, QA colleagues, Product, architects, application teams, and support specialists while helping teams take greater ownership of quality.
## Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a platform-level **end-to-end test strategy** covering critical customer and operational journeys across services.
- Map system boundaries, dependencies, data flows, and failure modes.
- Translate the highest operational risks into executable test scenarios.
- Build and maintain automated tests using real service interfaces and representative environments.
- Bring existing team-level test frameworks and suites into a coherent approach.
- Reuse effective testing capabilities and remove unnecessary duplication.
- Define patterns for test data, environments, identity, and dependency management to make cross-service tests repeatable and diagnosable.
- Integrate **smoke, regression, and end-to-end tests** into CI/CD pipelines.
- Provide useful test reporting and clear ownership of failures.
- Coordinate cross-team test preparation for changes affecting multiple services, consumers, or production environments.
- Use telemetry, logs, traces, and test evidence to diagnose failures.
- Distinguish product defects from environment or data issues.
- Assess release risk and communicate residual risk clearly.
- Help teams make evidence-based release decisions.
- Coach engineers and QA colleagues on testability, system-level thinking, and effective test automation.
- Enable teams to own quality rather than acting solely as a final testing gate.
## Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in **integration, system, or end-to-end testing of distributed software systems**.
- Strong **test automation** skills, including the ability to create maintainable frameworks, libraries, and workflows.
- Programming or scripting experience in at least one language commonly used for test automation, such as:
- C#
- Python
- TypeScript
- PowerShell
- Experience testing **REST APIs, asynchronous integrations, data flows, and service-to-service authentication**.
- Practical **CI/CD** experience, including automated test execution, result publishing, and failure investigation.
- Working knowledge of **cloud environments, containers, networking, configuration, and observability**.
- Ability to reason across team and service boundaries, identify hidden dependencies, and prioritize the highest operational risks.
- Collaborative approach focused on enabling teams to own quality.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-alignment skills.
## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with **Microsoft Azure**.
- Experience with **Azure DevOps or GitHub-based delivery workflows**.
- Experience with tools such as:
- Playwright
- Reqnroll or SpecFlow
- Robot Framework
- Pytest
- Pester
- xUnit
- Comparable test automation tooling
- Experience with **SQL**, data-platform testing, multi-tenant systems, or historical time-series data.
- Experience with **IoT Edge, gateways, MQTT, remote device communication**, or mixed cloud and edge solutions.
- Experience with performance, resilience, security, or compatibility testing of distributed systems.
- Experience in building automation, horticulture, operational technology, or systems with physical-world dependencies.
