About the Role

We are looking for a QA Automation Test Engineer to join our US-based business partner operating in the fintech industry.

Our business partner develops solutions covering card payment processing, virtual POS, physical POS terminals, and payment infrastructure for merchants.

In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end testing of the payment gateway and will play an active role in API testing, test automation, payment transaction flows, and certification processes. You will work remotely with teams based in the US and Türkiye, contributing to the reliability, security, and performance of the product.

What we are looking for

• 3–5 years in QA / test engineering, with at least 2 years testing payment gateways, acquiring platforms, POS software or terminal integrations.
• Direct experience with certification work — you have executed a certification script and worked findings through to closure. Experience with BKM, bank VPOS integrations, scheme certification or terminal certification in the Turkish market is directly relevant, and we will teach the US processor specifics.
• Solid understanding of card transaction lifecycles, authorization and settlement, response codes, and ISO 8583-style host messaging.
• Hands-on API testing (Postman, REST Assured, pytest + requests or similar) and the ability to read and interpret JSON payloads and host logs.
• Working knowledge of a scripting language, Python preferred, for automation and test data generation.
• Comfortable with SQL for verifying transaction and settlement data.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS requirements as they apply to testing: test card data handling, logging restrictions, and environment segregation.
• Meticulous documentation habits — certification evidence and traceability are part of the job.
• Strong written and spoken English. You will be in live calls with our US team and, at times, with our processors.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote team with asynchronous communication.
• Availability for at least four hours of overlap with US Eastern Time business hours, and flexibility for scheduled certification sessions with US processors. In practice this means working into the early evening Türkiye time.

Nice to have

• Prior work at an ISO, payment facilitator, gateway provider, processor, bank acquiring team or terminal manufacturer.
• Experience with Datacap, NMI, FreedomPay or similar gateway and semi-integrated solutions.
• Familiarity with tokenization and vault services, 3-D Secure, Level 2/3 data, and dual pricing or surcharge rules.
• Knowledge of TLS, certificate handling and network-level debugging (Wireshark, mitmproxy).
• Performance testing tools (k6, JMeter, Locust).
• Experience with EMVCo L3 test tools or processor-provided certification portals.
• Prior experience working remotely for a US or European company.
