Open Box Software is an internationally focused consulting company that specialises in business and software consulting services for the Real Estate Industry. Since 2001, we have been delivering practical, smart and cost-effective technology solutions for our clients. We have a highly capable team who care about doing good work, solving real problems, and enjoying the process along the way.

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join us on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes quality seriously and wants to help raise the overall standard of delivery across our teams. You will be responsible for designing, writing and maintaining automated test suites, and for leading the technical QA engineering initiatives that shape how we test.

The right person will thrive in an intelligent, motivated, self-driven team with low egos, good communication skills and an effective problem-solving approach. You will be opinionated in the best sense of the word: confident enough to speak up and share your point of view, while genuinely open to the opinions of others. Our teams work in environments where requirements are not always fully defined upfront, so an ability to think critically, ask the right questions and tune into client objectives is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, maintain and continuously improve automated test suites across client projects

  • Build out and extend Playwright or similar test frameworks

  • Design and implement automated tests for applications across a broad range of technologies

  • Lead technical QA engineering initiatives, setting standards and driving best practice across teams

  • Apply AI tools and techniques to improve the speed, coverage and quality of testing and delivery

  • Review and sense check business requirements and design documents to ensure testability

  • Identify, document and track software defects through the testing process

  • Partner with developers, analysts, project managers and clients to embed quality from the outset

  • Investigate and document better practices and alternative solutions that could be used in future delivery

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' QA engineering experience

  • An Engineering or IT-related degree is advantageous

  • Demonstrable experience with Playwright or similar frameworks, including building out test suites

  • Experience automating tests for React applications, with exposure to a wider technology stack

  • Practical, hands-on experience using AI in a delivery or testing context

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable engaging and communicating directly with business stakeholders

  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage expectations

Personal Traits:

  • Empathetic and self-aware

  • Self-motivated

  • Collaborative team player

  • Diligent & organized

  • Ambitious

  • Confident
