About The Company
Gorilla - Energy Margin Intelligence is a pioneering platform dedicated to providing margin intelligence solutions for energy retailers worldwide. Our mission is to empower energy companies across the UK, Europe, the US, and Australia with comprehensive insights into their profitability, enabling them to identify where they excel and where improvements are needed. By leveraging advanced data processing and analytics, we help our clients optimize their portfolios, enhance operational efficiency, and make informed strategic decisions. Our innovative approach combines cutting-edge technology with industry expertise to deliver actionable intelligence, supporting the transition towards a more sustainable and profitable energy sector.
About The Role
As a QA Engineer at Gorilla, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of quality for our data platform. Our SaaS solution is designed to handle complex data processing tasks such as pricing, forecasting, and analytics for energy retailers. Your role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and designers to embed quality assurance practices into every stage of development. You will be responsible for defining testing strategies, executing test cases, automating tests, and ensuring that every release meets rigorous reliability and performance benchmarks. Your efforts will directly impact the stability, usability, and overall success of our platform, helping energy retailers operate more efficiently and profitably.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of three years of experience as a QA Tester within an Agile development environment. Proficiency in both manual and automated testing methodologies is essential, including experience with test planning, design, and execution. A strong understanding of web-based applications and testing web service APIs is required. Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebDriverIO, Appium, or JMeter is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a methodical and detail-oriented mindset, with a passion for continuous learning and staying current with QA best practices. Excellent communication skills in English, along with a collaborative attitude and openness to feedback, are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include defining comprehensive testing scopes and plans, executing test cases across various features and sprints, and reporting on test coverage and product stability to support release decisions. You will collaborate with product teams to understand requirements, review acceptance criteria, and provide early feedback during development. Identifying potential risks that could impact product quality and communicating them effectively is vital. Acting as a liaison between product, support, and user teams, you will gather feedback, troubleshoot bugs, and perform root cause analysis. Automating acceptance tests using existing frameworks, conducting exploratory, regression, and performance testing, and promoting QA best practices across teams will be key parts of your role. Additionally, you will document issues clearly with reproducible steps and artifacts, perform peer reviews on test cases, and contribute to a culture of quality excellence.
Benefits
At Gorilla, we believe in supporting our team members through flexible working arrangements, including hybrid and remote options, to foster a healthy work-life balance. From day one, you will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate your best work. While the role involves semi-frequent travel across Europe and beyond, we ensure that your travel is manageable and purposeful. Our core benefits include a generous paid time off policy and comprehensive health insurance coverage, regardless of your location. You will be part of a dynamic environment where your contributions make a tangible impact on the energy transition, working alongside talented professionals on meaningful challenges. We also emphasize continuous learning and personal growth, offering opportunities for career development and scope expansion as the company grows. Regular company off-sites provide opportunities for team bonding and collaboration in inspiring locations such as Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Spain.
Equal Opportunity
Gorilla is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. We believe that diverse perspectives and experiences drive innovation and excellence. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply and join us in shaping the future of energy margin intelligence.
