About Try and Review
At Try and Review, we are building platforms that empower consumers to share authentic product experiences across our digital ecosystem (web, mobile app, and SaaS platform). To maintain the trust of our users and brand partners, our digital ecosystem—spanning web, mobile, and third-party integrations—must be reliable, fast, and bug-free.
The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Full-Time QA Engineer to own the quality of our product and documentation. We need an autonomous quality champion who takes the initiative to be the ultimate guardian of our production environment. While you will collaborate closely with developers and the Tech Project Manager, you are expected to operate independently as a self-starter—proactively hunting down issues, driving testing strategies, and ensuring absolutely nothing ships unless it meets our highest standards.
What You Will Do
- Quality Gatekeeper: Serve as the final authority on product releases. You are empowered to say "no" to a production release if it does not meet our rigorous quality and stability benchmarks.
- Testing Strategy & Execution: Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual and automated tests across both our UI (Web & Mobile) and APIs, ensuring new features are thoroughly tested before release.
- Documentation Ownership: Take charge of creating and maintaining internal technical documentation, back-office manuals, and workflows.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify bottlenecks in our QA pipeline and recommend necessary tools, integrations, or workflow improvements to increase efficiency and test coverage.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the Tech PM and Developers via project management and tracking tools (e.g., GitHub, ClickUp, Jira, Confluence, Notion, or similar tools) to define acceptance criteria, review technical specs, and catch edge cases early in the development cycle.
What You Bring
- Experience: 4+ years of QA experience, bridging both manual and automated testing.
- Automation & CI/CD Skills: Proven experience writing and maintaining automated tests. You must be hands-on and experienced with tools/frameworks such as Playwright, Appium, Guzzle, or Selenium, as well as integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
- Extreme Attention to Detail: You spot the edge cases everyone else misses and bring structure and discipline to documentation.
- Foundational Competence: You understand testing principles from the ground up, capable of mapping out test scenarios from scratch without AI assistance.
- AI-Augmented Workflow: You utilize AI dev tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) as a productivity booster to generate test scripts or structure documentation, but you critically verify every output rather than accepting it at face value.
- Soft Skills: Clear verbal and written communication in English. You are a self-starter who works well autonomously. You are assertive yet collaborative, able to confidently communicate blocking issues and push back when quality is at risk.
Bonus Points (Highly Appreciated)
- Workflow Automation: Experience designing and implementing custom workflows.
- AI Agents: Experience working with, testing, or building AI agents to streamline repetitive QA or administrative tasks.
