-------------【 Job Description】-------------
About the Company
The company is a global entertainment startup leveraging the power of technology to deliver anime-related content to audiences worldwide.
They aim to build a world where entertainment empowers more individuals to "make a living through creation."
Overview
Currently, the company has only one QA Engineer on staff. The reason a 100-million-download app can be managed by a single QA Engineer comes down to two primary factors:
・Engineering Accountability: Software engineers cultivate a culture of personally verifying their implementations rather than offloading testing entirely to QA.
・UX Focus: Built on that foundation, the QA Engineer can focus on high-level User Experience (UX) quality assurance.
As the QA Engineer for the VTuber avatar creation app, the candidate will be involved end-to-end across the entire QA process—including specification reviews, test strategy planning, test execution, release sign-off decisions, post-release monitoring, and test automation.
Within a 2-week release cycle, this role achieves a balance between high quality and speed through risk-based prioritization and strategy. The core mission of QA is to safeguard product quality, user experience, and release stability while enabling Product Managers and developers to move quickly with confidence.
The testing scope spans native iOS/Android, Unity, Web applications, and Web admin consoles. The engineer will address unique verification challenges specific to VTuber applications, such as avatar kinematics, streaming quality, payment flows, and league calculation logic.
The role involves close collaboration across multiple teams: Server, Native, Unity, UI/UX, and Product.
The company encourages all employees to actively leverage AI and explore its possibilities. This environment allows the QA team to engage in R&D and pioneer modern QA practices, such as AI-driven exploratory testing.
Join the team in supporting product quality from its core and establishing the next standard of QA!
Responsibilities
Reviewing specifications for new features (early detection of inconsistencies, ambiguities, and risks; aligning expectations with the Product Manager and developers)
Developing test plans and strategies (involvement from the early stages of development; risk-based prioritization)
Designing test cases
Functional testing, regression testing, and bug reporting (iOS/Android devices, Unity, web admin interface)
Final verification and approval decisions prior to release; post-release smoke testing and monitoring
Coding and research for test automation (expanding coverage of iOS/Android regression automation, functional test automation, R&D for AI-powered exploratory testing)
In the medium to long term, lead the evolution of QA processes, including launching performance testing, establishing quality metrics, improving CI, and expanding device coverage
Development Environment
Targeted Platforms: Native iOS/Android, Unity, Web Apps, Web Admin Panels
Bug and Task Management: Linear
Collaboration: GitHub, Notion, Slack
Test Automation: We are currently promoting the automation of regression testing for iOS and Android. Going forward, in addition to automating functional testing and expanding coverage to negative cases, we plan to implement AI-powered exploratory testing.
Documentation: We are maintaining documentation on QA processes, automation setup guides, and automation coverage.
Release Cycle: Every two weeks
