We’re looking for an experienced QA Automation Lead to join a distributed engineering team working on a large-scale Healthcare eCommerce platform.This is a hands-on technical leadership role — ideal for someone who enjoys leading and mentoring QA engineers while still being actively involved in automation design, framework improvements, code reviews, and technical decisions.The existing automation ecosystem is primarily built with Java + Selenium WebDriver, so strong hands-on experience with both is essential.The team is also expanding toward Playwright + TypeScript for newer applications, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working across both automation stacks and helping drive this evolution.

What you’ll do

• Lead and support a team of QA Automation Engineers
• Define and continuously improve the team’s QA strategy, standards, and best practices
• Stay hands-on with Java + Selenium WebDriver
• Contribute to automation initiatives using Playwright + TypeScript
• Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks and test suites
• Design and review UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end automated tests
• Review automation code and provide technical guidance to QA engineers
• Improve test coverage, reliability, maintainability, and execution time
• Define testing priorities based on technical and business risk
• Mentor QA engineers and support their technical development
• Coordinate testing activities across releases
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps
• Support investigation and resolution of complex defects and production issues
• Ensure automated tests are effectively integrated into CI/CD pipelines
• Help establish meaningful QA metrics and quality indicators
• Promote effective use of AI-assisted coding and testing tools

What we’re looking for

• Must-have:5+ years of QA experience, with strong test automation expertise
• Previous experience as a QA Lead, Test Lead, Senior QA Engineer with leadership responsibilities, or similar
• Strong hands-on experience with Java
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver
• Practical experience with Playwright
• Experience working with TypeScript in test automation
• Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks
• Strong understanding of both manual and automated testing
• Experience with API testing
• Experience with UI, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Good understanding of test strategy, risk-based testing, and QA processes
• Experience with Git and CI/CD
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Ability to review automation code and provide technical guidance
• Experience mentoring or coordinating other QA engineers
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Strong English communication skills

Nice to have

• AI coding/testing tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar
• TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber
• SQL and database testing
• Cloud-based application testing
• Experience defining QA metrics or quality KPIs
