About the Company

Fortaegis is a fast-growing semiconductor company developing advanced technology focused on ultra-secure, high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) designs. The company offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative product development in a collaborative engineering environment.

About the Role

Fortaegis is seeking a QA Test Engineer to validate integrated hardware and software systems through manual and automated testing. You will verify system functionality after hardware integration and software deployment, identify regressions, and help ensure the product meets quality standards before release.

Working closely with hardware, firmware, FPGA, and application development teams, you will build automated testing solutions, validate releases, and provide feedback that improves product stability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and automate tests for integrated systems prepared by the system integrator.

  • Develop test plans covering application software, firmware, and FPGA interactions.

  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks using Python, pytest, Robot Framework, or similar tools.

  • Run nightly and continuous test suites on actual hardware setups.

  • Test systems at multiple levels, including API, functional, and system-level testing.

  • Automate hardware interactions using relay boards, remote power switches, reset lines, and other available interfaces.

  • Develop tests that communicate with hardware through APIs, UART, SSH, and network interfaces.

  • Identify bugs and regressions, validate product releases, and help ensure stable deliveries.

  • Maintain regression-testing dashboards and reports to track results and product quality.

  • Provide actionable feedback to hardware, firmware, and application development teams to support issue resolution and product improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded systems testing.

  • Strong Python programming skills, including experience with pytest or similar testing frameworks.

  • Ability to perform API, functional, and system-level testing.

  • Understanding of network protocols, serial interfaces, and embedded diagnostics.

  • Experience automating hardware interactions, including relay boards, remote power switches, and reset lines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Python Institute certifications, such as PCET or PCAT.

  • Robot Framework Certification (RFCP).

What You Can Expect

  • The opportunity to contribute directly to the design and validation of an advanced semiconductor product.

  • Hands-on involvement in developing and testing ultra-secure, high-performance SoC designs.

  • Collaboration with hardware, firmware, FPGA, and application engineering teams.

  • A dynamic and technically challenging environment at the forefront of semiconductor technology.
