Job Description This is a remote position. PERMANENT AU DAYSHIFT, REMOTE/WFH-PHILIPPINES 12D Designer (Roads & Civil Infrastructure) – Queensland Standards - Company background: engineering services - Task: Develop detailed civil designs using 12d Model. - Working hours: Brisbane, Will start at 30hrs per week - VA rate: 12-15$AUD *Negotiable to $20AUD for the right candidate Job Summary We are seeking an experienced 12d Designer to join our civil engineering team, supporting the design and delivery of transport, land development, and infrastructure projects across Queensland and Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed civil designs, road alignments, earthworks, drainage systems, and construction documentation using 12d Model. You will work closely with Civil Engineers, Project Managers, and Surveyors to deliver high-quality designs that comply with Queensland (QLD) and Australian standards, client specifications, and local authority requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of road design, drainage, earthworks, utilities coordination, and digital terrain modelling, with experience delivering projects from concept through detailed design. Key Responsibilities Civil Design & Drafting ● Develop detailed civil designs using 12d Model. ● Complete detailed design using Austroads and SEQLD standards ● Prepare road alignments, intersections, roundabouts, and designs. ● Design schools and hospitals, industrial developments, and infrastructure projects. ● Produce grading plans, earthworks models, and finished surface designs in AutoCAD ● Develop longitudinal sections and cross-sections in AutoCAD ● Prepare construction drawings and detailed design documentation in AutoCAD. Road Design ● Design urban and rural roads in accordance with Queensland and Australian standards. ● Prepare horizontal and vertical alignments. ● Design pavement profiles and road geometry. ● Produce intersection and roundabout layouts. ● Develop road corridor models and pavement widening designs. Drainage & Stormwater Design ● Prepare stormwater drainage layouts ● Design underground drainage networks in 12D model ● Produce drainage long sections and pit schedules. ● Coordinate stormwater systems with road and subdivision designs. ● Assist engineers with hydraulic design documentation. Earthworks & Site Design ● Develop digital terrain models (DTMs). ● Calculate earthwork quantities and cut/fill analysis. ● Prepare bulk earthworks designs. ● Produce site grading and finished level plans. ● Coordinate retaining walls and surface drainage. Utilities Coordination ● Coordinate civil designs with: ○ Water ○ Sewer ○ Stormwater ○ Electrical ○ Telecommunications ○ Gas services ● Identify service clashes and assist with design resolutions. Survey & Data Management ● Import and manage survey data. ● Process point clouds, terrain models, and survey files. ● Produce set-out information for construction. ● Verify survey information and design accuracy. Documentation & Compliance ● Prepare detailed construction documentation. ● Ensure drawings comply with: ○ Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) standards ○ Austroads Guidelines ○ Australian Standards (AS/NZS) ○ Local Council Engineering Standards ○ Queensland Urban Drainage Manual (QUDM) ○ National Construction Code (where applicable) ● Maintain document revision control and quality assurance procedures. Project Coordination ● Collaborate with Civil Engineers, Project Managers, Surveyors, and external consultants. ● Attend design coordination meetings. ● Support project delivery from concept design through construction. ● Assist with Requests for Information (RFIs) and design revisions. ● Deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets. Required Qualifications ● Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Design, Drafting, or a related discipline. ● Minimum 3 years of experience using 12D Model. ● Experience designing roads, subdivisions, and civil infrastructure projects. ● Strong knowledge of Queensland and Australian engineering standards. ● Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and construction documentation. ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. ● Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Qualifications ● Experience working on Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects. ● Experience in residential subdivisions, road upgrades, highways, or land development. ● Knowledge of BIM and digital engineering workflows. ● Familiarity with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or OpenRoads Designer. ● Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects.
