Role purpose

Review potential matches video footage, confirming whether the same footage has been used and whether the detected timing is accurate.

Main responsibilities

• Review paired client and reference videos in an online dashboard.
• Decide whether each suggested match is correct.
• Accept or reject matches using clear review guidelines.
• Adjust source and reference start/end points when required.
• Identify duplicate, incorrect, or mismatched reference videos.
• Flag uncertain or unusual cases for senior review.
• Maintain consistent, accurate decisions across a high volume of material.

Ideal candidate

• Strong attention to visual and audio detail.
• Comfortable comparing two videos closely.
• Able to make accurate, consistent decisions during repetitive work.
• Confident using browser-based software and keyboard shortcuts.
• Good judgement when footage is edited, cropped, narrated, or shown out of sequence.
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to follow detailed review rules.
• Familiarity with news video, media monitoring, copyright, or content verification is useful but not essential.
• Good level of English

Working arrangement

• Remote, browser-based work.
• Flexible or scheduled shifts depending on review volumes.
• Initial training and sample-review assessment provided.
• Ongoing quality checks and feedback.
• Reviewers require a reliable internet connection, computer, headphones, and an appropriate working environment.

Performance expectations

• Accuracy takes priority over speed.
• Consistent application of the review guidelines.
• Appropriate escalation of ambiguous cases.
• Reliable completion of assigned work.
• Responsible handling of confidential or unreleased media content.

Suggested screening exercise

Candidates could complete a short paid or controlled assessment involving:

• Clear matches
• Clear non-matches
• Partial or edited matches
• Multiple occurrences of the same footage
• Incorrect reference-video assignments
• Start/end timing adjustments

Payment

• $3 per hour
• Payment sent weekly to Kenyan bank account or M-PESA

Assessment should measure accuracy, consistency, attention to detail, and ability to explain uncertain decisions—not only speed.
