Quality Assurance Analyst

Who We are We Looking For

We are looking for a detail oriented Quality Assurance Analyst. The successful candidate can confidently identify, document, and communicate software issues while collaborating closely with developers and product teams to ensure a high-quality user experience. They are detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of balancing thorough testing with fast-paced delivery. The Ava team is primarily remote, with employees located all across Canada.

What You'll Do

This role will have the following responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive manual test cases for regular software releases.
• Perform end-to-end testing of clinic workflows, including scheduling, patient management, billing, charting, reporting, and other key EMR functions.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, identify potential issues, and support release quality.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and release validation testing before production deployments.
• Identify, document, and clearly communicate defects, including steps to reproduce and expected versus actual results.
• Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
• Evaluate releases for functionality, usability, reliability, and overall user experience.
• Support post-release validation and investigation of production issues when required
  

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, or a related role
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and bug tracking workflows
• Experience testing web and/or mobile applications across different devices and browsers
• Ability to clearly document, reproduce, and communicate issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Linear, Postman, GitHub, or similar platforms is an asset
• Experience with automated testing frameworks is considered an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  

Compensation & Benefits

• Expected salary range is $80,000-90,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities
