Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - 100% Remote

About the Role

The company is seeking a Quality Automation Engineer to improve the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through automated testing. This role requires experience across front-end and back-end technologies, with a focus on developing automated test scripts, validating APIs, conducting performance and security assessments, and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong QA automation background, programming expertise, and experience with modern testing frameworks. Working closely with developers, QA professionals, product managers, and infrastructure teams, the engineer will help maintain reliable test coverage and support continuous improvements in software quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for front-end applications using Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Implement back-end API testing using tools and frameworks such as JMeter, Selenium WebDriver, Jasmine, and Cucumber.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to integrate automated testing into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Use Python, C, or Java for back-end automation and scripting tasks.
• Develop and enhance front-end test scripts using JavaScript and TypeScript, particularly for Angular applications.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies to improve test coverage and cross-functional collaboration.
• Conduct performance testing with JMeter, web application testing with Selenium, front-end unit testing with Jasmine, and behavior-driven testing with Cucumber.
• Use API-based testing frameworks to validate back-end services.
• Apply Veracode and SonarQube to support security assessments and maintain code quality standards.
• Use Serenity and Playwright for end-to-end testing of Angular 16 applications and maintain reliable test suites.
• Work with Oracle databases to verify data integrity and correctness during testing.
• Use AWS Code Services to support code deployment and collaborate with AWS infrastructure teams to streamline CI/CD processes.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and testing best practices, introducing improvements where appropriate.
• Communicate testing requirements and results effectively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Five to seven years of experience in QA automation.
• Demonstrated experience in quality engineering across front-end and back-end automation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C, or Java, along with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JMeter, Selenium, Jasmine, and Cucumber.
• Familiarity with Veracode and SonarQube for code security and quality assessments.
• Knowledge of Serenity and Playwright for end-to-end testing of Angular applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS).
• Experience with AWS Code Services and Spring Boot.

Location and Work Arrangement

• Work Location: 500 Grant Street, Floor 28, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15258.
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with four days onsite and one day remote per week.
• Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Contract Details

Duration: 12 months, with the goal of converting to a full-time employee (FTE) position.
