Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Lund, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. The Quality Assurance Engineer will design, execute, and maintain test plans and test cases to validate software quality for YourSix's cloud-based security solutions. Daily responsibilities include performing manual testing, documenting defects, collaborating closely with developers and product teams, and verifying fixes to ensure stable releases. The role also involves participating in sprint activities, refining testing processes, and contributing to continuous improvement of QA practices and overall product reliability.


Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Quality Assurance and Software Testing, with experience ensuring product reliability and compliance with specifications.

- Hands-on skills in Test Execution and working with structured Test Cases to validate functionality, performance, and usability.

- Practical experience in Manual Testing, including exploratory testing and regression testing across web and cloud-based applications.

- Ability to document issues clearly, analyze root causes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve defects.

- Familiarity with test management tools and issue tracking systems is beneficial.

- Understanding of cloud-based or SaaS environments, experience with security, video, or access control systems is an advantage.

- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a detail-oriented approach and commitment to high-quality deliverables.

- Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in software engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field.


What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

- Drive & Evolve Test Automation: Design, implement, and maintain integration and UI automated tests across web and mobile, integrating them into GitHub Actions CI pipelines for rapid feedback.

- Risk-Based System & Staging Validation: Own and execute epic-level test plans and exploratory testing charters on staging environments, ensuring live system flows and real device integrations are rock solid.

- Defect Prevention & Root Cause Analysis: Triage and report bugs using structured severity/frequency scoring, and ensure regression gaps are codified into automated suites at the most cost-effective pyramid layer.

- Enable Shared Quality Ownership: Partner closely with backend developers and frontend engineers to define acceptance criteria, review test coverage, and improve overall testability across 30+ microservices.

- Post-Release & Observability Verification: Collaborate with SRE and product teams to monitor post-release health, error rates, and system stability.

- Collaborate with Product and Business Stakeholders: Work with product managers, designers, support, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs, clarify requirements, identify risks, and define clear, testable acceptance criteria.

- Communicate Quality and Release Risk: Provide stakeholders with clear updates on test results, defects, unresolved risks, and release readiness to support informed prioritisation and go/no-go decisions.
