As our business continues to scale, we're looking for a talented and detail-oriented QA Engineer to take ownership of software testing, quality assurance and release reliability across our technology platforms.
The Role
We're looking for a proactive QA Engineer who can identify bugs before they reach production, prevent recurring issues and ensure our systems operate reliably.
You'll work closely with our developers, Product Manager and engineering leadership to test new functionality, investigate defects and establish structured QA processes.
This is a hands-on position combining manual testing, API testing and automated testing.
We need someone who doesn't simply report that something is broken, but investigates why, reproduces the issue and helps ensure it never happens again.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing across our platforms.
- Test backend PHP applications, APIs, databases and frontend functionality.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites to reduce manual testing and prevent regressions.
- Test complex lead-routing logic, buyer integrations, API responses and transaction processing.
- Validate data accuracy across reporting, tracking, revenue calculations and database records.
- Identify, document, reproduce and track bugs through resolution.
- Verify bug fixes without introducing issues elsewhere in the system.
- Create structured test plans, test cases and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct pre-release testing and provide QA sign-off before production deployments.
- Work with developers to identify root causes of recurring issues.
- Help implement continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor production issues and recommend improvements to software reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in software QA, including automated testing.
- Strong experience testing web applications, backend systems and REST APIs.
- Proficiency with tools such as Postman, Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.
- Solid understanding of SQL and experience validating data in MySQL databases.
- Experience with API testing, including JSON payloads, authentication, error handling and webhooks.
- Ability to write automated tests using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or PHP.
- Experience with Git, bug-tracking systems and development workflows.
- Strong understanding of regression testing, integration testing and software release processes.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and spoken English.
Highly Desirable
- Experience testing PHP or Laravel applications.
- Experience with PHPUnit or Pest.
- Familiarity with high-volume, real-time transaction processing systems.
- Experience in fintech, lending, adtech or affiliate marketing.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment testing.
- Experience testing complex business rules, financial calculations and routing algorithms.
- Familiarity with performance and load-testing tools such as k6 or JMeter.
