About the Quality Assurance Engineer III Position: As a Quality Assurance Engineer III, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products as well as driving the vision of QA automation. You will work collaboratively within your scrum team as well as cross team to solution for new features as well as troubleshoot medium-high complexity problems. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, as well as IT Leadership will be essential in achieving our goals. This position is eligible for remote work, but quarterly travel will be required to Avalon's corporate office located in Tampa, Florida. Quality Assurance Engineer III – Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Four (4) to Eight (8) in a health care or related organization. Excellent understanding of Quality Assurance Engineering and expert level experience with one or many scripting languages Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. Equivalent experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree(s). Excellent understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Expert skillset with automation testing tools and scripting languages. Develop and define test strategies, plans, and maintain automation test data. Troubleshoot and debug medium-high complexity issues in the software Collaborate and communicate effectively to understand requirements and provide updates to both IT Leadership as well as business stakeholders. Capable of working individually and collaboratively Ability to clearly document functionality and defects Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Growth mindset driven to continuous improvement Mentor and grow team members a must. Displays ownership and pride in solutions delivered Quality Assurance Engineer III – Minimum Qualifications: Excellent understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle). Define and mature QA methodologies and processes Expert level skill in one or many scripting/programming languages Ability to translate applications Business Case into clear test scenarios/cases Perficient in systematic troubleshooting Ability to recommend areas of improvement through testing and statistical analysis Experience load testing Experience performance testing Expert understanding of SQL and data validation Basic understanding of SLA/SLI/SLO’s Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables Solid understanding of HTTP/REST fundamentals Solid understanding of JSON/XML/YAML fundamentals Experience with Agile and Scrum Proficient with standard business applications such as Word, Excel, etc. Mentors junior team members on processes, best practices, and new technologies Quality Assurance Engineer III – Preferred Qualifications: Expert level ability to script in one or more of the following: JavaScript/Typescript (Preferred) Bash Python PowerShell Verbose experience with E2E frameworks such as Playwright, Protractor, Cypress, or Selenium. (Playwright preferred) Working experience with Atlassian products such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket (or something comparable) Fluency in containerization/cloud technologies. Such as Docker, AWS ECS, AWS Fargate, Kubernetes/AWS EKS, AWS Lambda, S3. AWS Cloud Practitioner or comparable Cloud experience a plus. Experience with API testing tools such as Postman/Newman Experience integrating automated testing within CI/CD frameworks Ability to recommend areas of improvement through testing and statistical analysis Solid understanding of networking concepts
