Quality Assurance Tester (Contractual)

Purpose

The Quality Assurance Tester is a vital quality gatekeeper within the Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC), responsible for ensuring that Arcadis.com meets the highest standards of performance, security, and usability. This role focuses on the rigorous testing of global, multilingual features, identifying functional discrepancies, and escalating issues related to content accuracy and user experience to ensure a flawless digital journey for Arcadis’ target audiences.

The primary purpose is to safeguard the integrity of the digital platform by executing comprehensive manual and/or automated test plans within an Agile Scrum environment. By collaborating closely with developers and product owners, the Quality Assurance Tester ensures that every update—from minor UI/UX tweaks to major CMS integrations—is delivered in a flawless manner. The role is essential in maintaining a best-in-class digital ecosystem that is reliable, accessible, and consistently aligned with Arcadis’ brand standards.

Individual Accountabilities

Quality Engineering and Lifecycle Testing

• Perform end-to-end testing to ensure the quality of all new website features, security updates, and CMS enhancements.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test cases and scripts to verify software functionality, performance, and stability.
• Lead functional, smoke, and regression testing cycles to ensure zero-defect deployments for Arcadis.com.
• Ensure test automation is integrated throughout the development lifecycle to increase speed and accuracy of delivery.
• Monitor website performance and conduct regular quality checks to ensure an optimal and consistent user experience globally.

Defect Management and Documentation

• Identify, document, and report technical issues or bugs with high precision, providing developers with the necessary data to resolve them.
• Manage the full bug-fix lifecycle, working closely with developers to verify solutions and ensure fixes do not impact existing features.
• Provide detailed quality reports and recommendations for improvements based on testing outcomes and performance data.

Key shared accountabilities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional team (UI/UX Designer, Product Owner, and Developers) to ensure new features meet user requirements and align with the Definition of Done.
• Work closely with other Quality Assurance Testers to align on testing tools, automation frameworks, and global quality benchmarks.
• Work closely with the Product Owner, Technical Business Analyst, Developers, and other Quality Assurance Testers, as well as third-party vendors and the Web Content Team to identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions that enhance the overall user experience and platform usability.

Agile Participation and Team Excellence

• Participate actively in daily stand-ups and scrum ceremonies to align on goals and resolve blockers.
• Stay up to date with the latest testing tools and techniques, continuously learning and applying new methodologies.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, share testing insights and foster a collective responsibility for quality across the entire Web team.

Data and technology

• Testing Mastery: Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, smoke, and regression testing, with specific expertise in cross-browser and mobile responsiveness.
• CMS Familiarity: Experience with Sitecore and Optimizely CMS platforms is a significant plus, alongside proficiency in Azure DevOps for defect tracking and lifecycle management.
• Data-Driven Logic: Strong logical thinking and effective research/data-gathering skills used to monitor website performance and conduct regular quality checks.
• Agile Expertise: Experienced in the Agile Scrum way of working, utilizing effective time management to deliver high-quality output within sprint constraints.
• Digital Accuracy: Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Azure DevOps, Figma, Storybook, ZeroHeight, ensuring all technical reporting and documentation, and workload tracking are accurate and data-backed.
