About the Role
Sun Chemical is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Quality Management Systems Specialist to support our Global Quality Management Systems team. In this role, you will coordinate customer quality and compliance requests, support the administration of quality management systems (QMS), and serve as a key liaison for certification and quality documentation across North American operations.
This position plays a critical role in connecting customer requirements, quality processes, training, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure timely responses and consistent execution across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Documentation & Compliance
- Manage customer self-assessments, qualification questionnaires, supplier surveys, and related quality requests.
- Maintain and distribute approved quality manuals, policies, certifications, insurance documents, and compliance statements.
- Coordinate customer audit support, documentation requests, and corrective action follow-up activities with Quality and business teams.
- Serve as a point of contact for customer compliance and quality documentation inquiries.
Quality Management Systems (QMS) Administration
- Support EtQ and SAP quality processes and maintain North American EtQ assignment matrices.
- Translate approved process changes into user-friendly guidance, training materials, communications, and workflow documentation.
- Coordinate QMS training for new and existing users.
- Provide user support, troubleshooting assistance, and issue resolution related to quality systems.
- Partner with process owners, site users, and technical support teams to assess requests, validate functionality, document impacts, and promote standardized processes.
- Coordinate testing, documentation, and communication of system enhancements across applicable modules.
Reporting, Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and distribute quality system reports and key performance metrics.
- Support the internal audit program, including planning, conducting, documenting, and following up on ISO 9001 internal audits and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with business units and Quality teams on quality improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Participate in team meetings, continuous improvement activities, and quality system enhancement efforts.
- Manage SCRAP return processes in partnership with Customer Service and Environmental, Health & Safety teams.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Business, Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience supporting Quality Management Systems (QMS), Saleforce (or other CRM), SAP, customer compliance processes, audits, training programs, or quality-related initiatives within a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating documentation, training materials, reports, and customer-facing communications.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to process excellence.
Preferred
- Experience with EtQ and SAP quality processes.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) designation.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Six Sigma training or certification.
- Experience coordinating system enhancements, testing, change management, and user adoption activities.
