Description Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Quality Product Improvement Engineer Coordinator to join our Quality Improvement department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid work model. Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group is comprised of more than 1,700 Permanente physicians and nearly 300 staff professionals who come together to make a positive impact on the health and lives of more than 750,000 members in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Reporting to the Quality Product Improvement Engineer Manager, the Quality Product Improvement Engineer Coordinator supports regional quality improvement initiatives department through data-driven analysis, clinical system optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with physician leaders, quality improvement engineers, data architects, analysts, and operational teams to support population health and care management programs, while gaining hands-on experience with healthcare data, Epic HealthConnect workflows, reporting tools, and improvement science. We are seeking a curious, open-minded, and highly creative individual who actively learns from diverse sources, welcomes new experiences, and looks beyond the familiar. The ideal candidate explores different fields, cultures, and perspectives, connecting ideas in innovative and unconventional ways. You can expect to: Support regional quality and performance improvement initiatives by tracking measures, monitoring outcomes, and assisting with implementation activities across multiple programs. Partner with physician leaders, quality improvement engineers, analysts, data architects, and operational stakeholders to document workflows, requirements, and improvement opportunities. Assist in translating clinical guidelines and performance goals into measurable data elements and operational actions. Support data collection, validation, reporting, and automation efforts using enterprise data sources and reporting tools. Prepare summaries and basic analyses to help identify trends, data quality issues, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Support Epic HealthConnect workflows, including chart review, outreach documentation, order management, secure messaging, and population care management activities. Coordinate preventive care and chronic disease outreach initiatives using Epic tools, secure messaging, letters, phone workflows, and pending orders. Maintain documentation, standard work, lessons learned, and best practices to support continuous improvement efforts. What is required: Bachelor’s degree required; degree in health, public health, data, informatics, engineering, or a related field preferred. 1 year of clinical and healthcare operations experience required. Basic exposure to healthcare data, analytics, quality improvement, or clinical operations preferred. Strong interest in data systems, analytics, clinical technology, and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). Knowledge and/or exposure to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, required. Comfort working with data required. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills required. Excellent time management, team-building, and facilitation skills required. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn healthcare systems and quality improvement methods. Must be able to commute to Washington D.C., one day per week.
