Railway Homologation & Certification Engineer

As part of international railway machinery projects, we are looking for a Homologation & Certification Engineer capable of independently managing approval and certification processes for different markets.

• Manage end-to-end homologation and certification processes for railway machinery.
• Identify the applicable regulatory, normative and country-specific requirements for the relevant market.
• Define the homologation strategy and establish the related certification plan.
• Prepare, structure and maintain the technical documentation required to obtain the necessary approvals.
• Coordinate the collection of documents, calculations, test results and supporting evidence with Engineering, Testing and Quality teams.
• Manage communication with relevant authorities, assessment bodies and certification organizations.
• Follow up on open points and ensure their resolution through to final approval.
• Assess the impact of technical changes on the homologation dossier.
• Provide regulatory and homologation expertise to project teams throughout the development of the machinery.

• Higher education degree in engineering, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Railway Engineering or a comparable field.
• Proven experience in homologation, certification or authorization of railway vehicles or railway machinery.
• Ability to independently manage a homologation dossier from initial preparation through to final approval.
• Good understanding of the railway regulatory environment and applicable standards.
• Familiarity with approval processes involving national authorities and assessment / certification bodies.
• Knowledge of TSIs, national requirements and NoBo / DeBo / AsBo processes would be an advantage depending on the target market.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple technical stakeholders.

• Professional English required.
• German is highly appreciated.
• French or Italian would be an asset.
