The team oversees the planning, acquisition, design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of branch and corporate facilities, ensuring each location is functional, efficient, brand-aligned, and member-focused. Its work blends real estate strategy, workplace planning, architectural design, construction management, budgeting, vendor coordination, and operational support to deliver high-quality spaces that reflect Mountain America’s values and support continued growth across its markets. Job Description LOCATION Tanner Buildin g – West Jordan , UT (Hybrid option available) 7167 S Center Park Drive West Jordan, UT 84084 SCHEDULE This is a 6-month internship averaging < 30 hours per week. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with a mix of in-office and remote work based on business needs. Team members are generally expected to be in the office on Mondays, with flexibility beyond that. Some travel will be expected, with opportunities to visit project sites throughout our footprint, with occasional overnight travel of 1 to 2 days to support design projects and gain real-world experience. Position Overview At Mountain America Credit Union, we are committed to creating thoughtful, functional, and welcoming environments that support both our employees and members. As an Interior Design Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside our Design team, contributing to projects that impact branches and corporate spaces across the organization. This position is ideal for a candidate who is studying architecture and interior design or has graduated in the field of physical design. This person will support the design team with both creative and technical tasks. They may assist in developing concept designs, creating drawings and 3D models using software like AutoCAD and Revit, and preparing presentation materials for internal meetings. This person will help research materials, finishes, and furnishings, as well as compile samples and mood boards. Additionally, they may contribute to site visits, take measurements, and help document project progress. Some of the time will be s pent with vendor partners as well. Overall, the role provides hands-on exposure to the design process, collaboration within a professional team, and insight into how projects move from concept to construction. Key Responsibilities Support the Interior Design team in daily project coordination, including material boards, sample management, and design documentation Assist with site visits by taking measurements, documenting existing conditions, and supporting field observations Help develop basic furniture layouts and space planning concepts under team guidance Coordinate with vendors for sample requests, deliveries, and installation scheduling Track project progress, orders, and vendor communication using Smartsheet and internal systems Participate in direct integration with architectural partners Maintain and organize the design resource library, ensuring materials and finishes are current and accessible Assist in updating branch and corporate design records, drawings, and project documentation Provide on-site support during installations, including punch list tracking and coordination assistance Research industry trends, materials, and products to support design decisions and team initiatives Qualifications Currently pursuing, or has acquired, a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field Basic understanding of space planning, furniture layouts, and design principles Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a collaborative environment Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners Interest in commercial, corporate, or multi-location design environments Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar is preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook); experience with Smartsheet is a plus Ability to travel for site visits and assist with installations as needed Positive attitude and alignment with MACU’s values of service, collaboration, and continuous improvement Schedule can be flexible around class commitments with coordination from the Design Team Manager Mountain America Credit Union is an EEO/AA/ADA/Veterans employer.
