At HCF, we’re looking for a Finance Operations Support Manager to lead and support our Finance Operations team across accounts payable, bank reconciliations, expense management and cash management. This is an opportunity for an experienced team leader who enjoys being close to the detail, building strong relationships and creating an environment where people can do their best work.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and key internal and external stakeholders, you’ll help ensure our financial operations are accurate, efficient and well controlled, while identifying opportunities to make the way we work even better.
Finance Operations Support Manager
12-month max-term contract
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and support the team: Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and development, setting clear expectations and fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Oversee financial operations: Review and support accounts payable, expense reimbursements, corporate credit cards and daily bank reconciliations, ensuring transactions are accurate, appropriately authorised and processed on time.
- Manage banking relationships: Act as the key contact for our banking partners, NAB and Westpac, and support the management of bank accounts, access, signatories and corporate credit card arrangements.
- Support cash management: Review cash flow, liquidity calculations and account balances to help ensure funds are managed effectively and in line with HCF’s policies.
- Maintain strong financial controls: Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate outstanding items and ensure reporting and compliance requirements are met.
- Drive continuous improvement: Work with the team to identify practical ways to streamline processes, improve efficiency and strengthen existing controls.
- Support financial systems and access: Help maintain accurate transaction mapping between our core systems and TechnologyOne, alongside administration of myGovID access.
What you’ll bring
You’re a practical, approachable leader who enjoys helping people succeed while ensuring the detail is right. You’re comfortable balancing team support with hands-on operational oversight and take pride in delivering a reliable, high-quality service.
You’ll also bring:
- Experience leading and developing a team, with a focus on coaching, collaboration and performance.
- Solid experience across accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
- A relevant business qualification.
- Strong numerical skills, commercial awareness and confidence using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
- A proactive mindset and the confidence to challenge existing processes and identify improvements.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and represent Finance positively when working with internal and external stakeholders.
Why join HCF?
This is an opportunity to step into a varied finance operations leadership role where you can make a tangible difference to the team, strengthen everyday processes and build trusted relationships across the business.
If you’re a people-focused finance professional who enjoys leading from the front, supporting others and making operations work better, we’d love to hear from you.
Please note: This is a 12-month maximum-term contract.
