Level: Lead Assistant Manager (individual contributor)

Experience: 3-6 Years

BU/Segment: Enabling / Recruitment / HR

Location: London, United Kingdom (Hybrid - 4 days per week in the office)

Employment Type: Permanent

Start: As soon as possible

Summary of the role:

As an Internal Recruitment Consultant, you will join our UK and Ireland Talent Acquisition team and play a key role in identifying, attracting and hiring high-quality talent to support EXL’s continued growth. This is a hands-on individual contributor position for a bright, ambitious and proactive recruitment professional who wants to develop their in-house career within a global Data and AI organisation.

You will manage end-to-end recruitment across the UK and Ireland, partnering closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to understand requirements, shape sourcing strategies, assess candidates and deliver an excellent hiring experience. You will also support the wider team with interview scheduling, recruitment administration, reporting and onboarding when required.

The role is particularly well suited to an agency recruiter looking to move in-house or an up-and-coming Talent Acquisition professional ready for a broader, consultative role. You will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work collaboratively and take a process-driven approach while remaining comfortable getting stuck into day-to-day delivery.

We are seeking experience recruiting within Technology, Data, AI, Engineering, London Market Insurance or Financial Services. Strong active sourcing and direct hiring capability is essential.

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

  • End-to-end recruitment: Manage multiple vacancies from briefing and sourcing through assessment, offer and onboarding while maintaining pace, quality and stakeholder alignment.

  • Stakeholder partnership: Work closely with hiring managers and business leaders to understand talent needs, agree hiring strategies and provide clear, consultative market guidance.

  • Active sourcing: Build high-quality pipelines through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, networking, social media, market mapping and direct outreach, with a strong focus on passive talent.

  • Candidate assessment: Review applications, conduct screening interviews and assess experience, motivation, communication and alignment with role requirements.

  • Candidate experience: Build trusted candidate relationships, communicate clearly and provide timely updates throughout the recruitment process.

  • Recruitment coordination: Schedule interviews across multiple stakeholders and time zones and support recruitment administration, documentation and onboarding activities.

  • Agency and PSL management: Partner effectively with approved recruitment agencies, monitor quality and support efforts to manage agency spend and cost per hire.

  • ATS management: Maintain accurate, current records across job posting, sourcing, screening, interview and offer stages and support effective ATS processes and usage.

  • Reporting and insight: Prepare weekly recruitment updates, track key metrics and use data and market insight to identify challenges and recommend practical improvements.

  • Process improvement: Help improve recruitment workflows, interview processes, job descriptions, candidate experience and direct hiring outcomes.

  • Diversity and inclusion: Support fair, inclusive hiring practices, broaden talent pools and contribute to EXL’s commitment to improving representation across the organisation.

  • HR partnership: Work collaboratively with HR on onboarding, workforce planning, employer branding, candidate experience and recruitment-related projects.

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:

  • A degree is preferred.

  • 3-6 years of Talent Acquisition or recruitment consultancy experience, with strong end-to-end recruitment delivery.

  • Essential recruitment experience in one or more of the following areas: Technology, Data, AI, Engineering, London Market Insurance or Financial Services.

  • Proven active sourcing and direct hiring capability, including engaging passive candidates and building sustainable talent pipelines.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work in a professional, consultative environment.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities while maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines.

  • Experience of interview scheduling, recruitment administration, reporting and onboarding support.

  • Good working knowledge of applicant tracking systems, recruitment platforms and sourcing tools, including AI-enabled tools.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a process-driven approach.

  • Ability to work from our London office 4 days per week.

  • Existing eligibility to work in the United Kingdom. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

  • A stable career history that demonstrates commitment and progression.

Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have:

  • Bright and ambitious: Curious, quick to learn and motivated to develop within Talent Acquisition.

  • Proactive: Takes ownership, anticipates hiring needs and acts with pace.

  • Collaborative: Works well within a close, supportive team and builds effective relationships with HR, hiring managers and candidates.

  • Hands-on: Comfortable balancing strategic sourcing and stakeholder work with scheduling, administration and onboarding support.

  • Resilient and adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and responds positively to changing priorities and market conditions.

  • Professional and consultative: Communicates clearly, presents well and represents EXL confidently with candidates and stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented: Maintains accurate candidate data and delivers reliable, well-organised recruitment processes.

  • Career-oriented: Looking for a long-term opportunity to grow from a specialist individual contributor role, with potential to develop over the coming years.

As part of a leading global Data and AI company, you can look forward to:

  • A competitive salary with a generous bonus, private healthcare, critical illness life assurance at 4 x your annual salary, income protection insurance, and a rewarding pension.

  • EXL provides everyday financial well-being solutions, such as cash back cards, in which you can earn cashback while enjoying discounts, promotions, and offers from top retailers. We also offer a Cycle Scheme where you can save money on bikes and cycling accessories.
