The Recruitment and Admissions (R&A) unit at the UBC Sauder School of Business plays an integral role in the achievement of the UBC Sauder’s commitment to attract, engage and retain students who represent diverse perspectives, experiences and identities (UBC Sauder Strategic Plan) by recruiting well-qualified, high-performing, community-minded, and diverse domestic and international students to meet the school’s enrolment targets and goals.
The Recruitment Sales Specialist coordinates and implements recruitment and marketing initiatives across UBC Sauder’s undergraduate and professional graduate programs. This role develops and maintains recruitment-related customer relationship management (CRM) systems, reporting tools and processes, analyzes recruitment pipelines and program performance, and provides insights to inform recruitment activities, marketing campaigns and enrolment planning.
Organizational Status
Reports to the Director, Recruitment. Receives direction from the unit’s leadership team. Works closely with UBC Sauder’s Office of Student Academic Services, Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre, Development, Alumni Engagement, IT and Analytics and Marketing and Communications teams.
Work Performed
Recruitment and Sales
- Supports the Recruitment team through the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) system for prospective students.
- Serves as the unit’s CRM expert, maintaining system documentation, updating reports and dashboards, and providing training on recruitment pipeline processes in collaboration with the UBC Sauder IT and Analytics team.
- Liaises with UBC IT and UBC Sauder IT and Analytics teams to coordinate CRM enhancements in support of the unit’s KPIs and enrolment objectives.
- Develops and maintains CRM reports, dashboards and list views, analyzes recruitment and program performance and trends, and communicates findings and recommendations to the R&A team to support KPI monitoring, marketing campaign and recruitment activities.
- Prepares market projections and forecasts, conducts sales and market analysis and research in support of the R&A priorities, KPIs and enrolment objectives.
- Coordinates the completion and submission of market research and school-ranking surveys, including QS, Maclean's and GMAC.
- Coordinates and liaises with external vendors to identify and secure international recruitment events and coordinates the preparation of UBC Sauder marketing assets for promotion.
- Coordinates promotional and technical arrangements for all domestic and international recruitment events and initiatives.
- Maintains and enhances application materials, official documents and status communications, and supports the team’s efforts in improving prospective students' CRM communications and experience.
- Analyzes applicant pipelines and follow-up trends to identify opportunities to improve applicant engagement and yield, and informs recruitment activities.
Marketing
- Provides recruitment and market insights and contributes to the development and implementation of domestic and international recruitment and marketing plans for UBC Sauder programs.
- Manages budgets for recruitment and marketing initiatives and activities.
- Coordinates the development and production of marketing materials for UBC Sauder programs in collaboration with UBC Sauder Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team, including drafting, editing and proofreading.
- Maintains webpages for UBC Sauder programs. Develops marketing copy in collaboration with MarCom and coordinates the production and promotion of student, faculty, employee and alumni interviews and testimonials.
- Coordinates with MarCom on the development and implementation of email campaigns, landing pages and digital advertising assets for R&A marketing initiatives.
- Sources content for UBC Sauder social media posts and coordinates with MarCom on publication.
- Ensures marketing materials used by external vendors and agencies comply with UBC Sauder brand guidelines.
Additional Duties
- Contributes to the development and implementation of policies and priorities of the unit.
- Represents UBC Sauder at recruitment events and engages with prospective students to provide program information.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with faculty and employees within UBC Sauder and UBC to support recruitment and marketing activities.
- Assumes responsibility for special projects assigned by the Assistant Dean, R&A leadership team and the Dean’s Office.
- Performs other related duties as required, including occasional domestic and international travel for recruitment activities.
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Poor decisions, judgment or errors would adversely affect the graduate applicants' career and/or academic opportunities. This in turn would jeopardize the reputation of the UBC Sauder and UBC. This position is able to handle a high volume of activities requiring very careful attention to detail and adherence to strict deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications
Diploma in Marketing. Minimum of one year of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own
- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a sales and marketing related role, involving technical, design, project administration and execution activities.
- Experience supporting a sales team with tactical activities is an asset.
- High degree of comfort and experience working with different technologies and applications, including advanced use of Adobe, basic html and CRM systems and website content management tools. Experience with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud is preferred.
- Experience / knowledge of Google Analytics is an asset.
- Intermediate minimum or Advanced preferred MS Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write, edit and contribute to marketing copy.
- Experience in monitoring and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through dashboard creation and management.
- Ability to interact professionally and act as a brand ambassador.
- Ability to manage complex projects with high attention to detail.
