Regional Director of Operations Region: North Texas This position is remote but need to live in North Texas area to visit the facilities. This is a salaried position Job Summary: The Regional Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the operation of assigned long-term care facilities. It is the responsibility of this position to assure the highest practical medical and psych-social well-being of the residents it serves, the families it serves, and the needs of the employees and the community in which it operates. The Regional Director of Operations directs the overall operation of the assigned facilities including service provision, financial, human resources, licensure compliance and census development while ensuring the assigned facilities comply with corporate policies, federal and state. This position exercises administrative and functional supervision over a region including all staff and consultants. This position receives direction from the Regional Vice President of Operations. Job Responsibilities: Reviews policies, procedures and systems of each facility to assure quality services are provided to meet residents’ needs nursing, nutrition, rehabilitation, social, activities, oral, environmental and other needs. Analyzes the clinical matrix monthly to assure indicators are maintained between the upper and lower control limits as set by facility operations. Participates in scheduled clinical reviews of respective facilities and assure that agreed upon action plans are executed. Establishes a facility financial management system through: a) P and L reviews in collaboration with the Corporate Accountant, b) accounts receivable reviews in discussion with the Regional Financial Specialist and c) compliance reviews to assure all business office policies and procedures are accurately maintained. Assures each facility maintains adequate quantities of qualified staff to deliver services twenty-four hours each day in each discipline utilizing the PPD Calculator and reviewing the KPI, as well as effective recruitment and retention programs, initial orientation and ongoing in-service training Regularly reviews marketing plans with Administrator and regional marketing staff to assure that services meet the needs of the local community and both the census and payer mix targets are achieved as budgeted. Assures each facility maintains substantial compliance with all local, state and federal regulations to assure licensure, Medicare/Medicaid certification, to attain the highest external recognition for care and services rendered in the facility. Support each facility in obtaining AHCA Annual Quality Award. Reviews each facility’s annual operating budget and capital expenditure plan and provides direction and support to the facility Administrator in achieving contribution margin at or above budget and capital expenditures at or below budget. Responsible to assure a performance improvement program is developed and implemented in each facility as needed which includes both measuring and improving the satisfaction of residents and families. Responsible for the professional growth and improved management skills of Administrators and facility managers through mentoring and training. Sets a good example and foster team spirit between facility and corporate staff. Assures that all reasonable requests from corporate staff for reports, facility visits and other interactions are completed in a timely and professional manner. Attends and participates in professional workshops and seminars to keep abreast of current changes in the healthcare field, as well as to maintain licensed status and influence in state healthcare regulations. Develops and reviews monthly action plan for each facility to make sure progress is being made on issues not in compliance with company policies and procedures or the facility’s business plan. Responsible for ensuring coverage when facility Administrator position is vacant. Visits facility on a regular basis to ensure facility staff, budget, marketing plan, action plans and clinical issues are reviewed and are within company guidelines Performs other duties as assigned Position Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in Business or health related field; Masters preferred 5 to 8 years of related healthcare experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Management, supervision skills and staffing skills a must Must have strong analytical, writing and communication skills Functional computer skills, financial planning and budget skills Knowledge of federal, state and JACHO regulations Must possess a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation This position requires substantial travel.
